Hi Andy - thanks for your advice. I am just starting to get back to some regular exercise, and do stretch after when my muscles are fully warmed up. It's sometimes difficult to keep my thoughts steered towards doing the exercise and stretching simply for fun, and to make me feel fitter and healthier, because it's always at the back of my mind that if I do get back into shape, maybe my pain will diminish. But I am enjoying just getting back out into the company of others at fitness classes. I have steered away from yoga so far, because I was worried that I might like it too much, and it might remind me of my stretching to alleviate pain. But I do like to keep supple as I get older.

I am not a nutritional expert, but don't whole grain flours release energy at a slower rate than white flours? I thought this was the value in them, apart from the added fibre aspect. I don't eat a lot of carbs myself, but if pressed to eat bread, I would choose wholegrain over white.

SteveO page 146:

"People normally believe what the physician tells them, especially if it allows them to opt out of things they don't want to do--avoid places they don't want to be. Even if the physician is wrong, most people will believe him or her because of their position of influence. If your doctor doesn't believe Dr. Sarno, and you believe in your doctor, then that's it--your healing has been negated."
