Do you all think that Complex Regional Pain Syndrome also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy is TMS? I read (pg.79 MBP) about it and Dr. Sarno said it was "characterized by pain, swelling, tight and shiny skin and bone abnormalities that can be seen on X-ray." That doesn't sound like TMS but he then goes on and describes a case about a woman who was diagnosed with CRPS but responded well with TMS therapy.

I have read about it recently (Paula Abdul, USA Today - The Fight Against Pain) and there does seem to be some commonalities. The USA Today article talked about a child who was diagnosed with CRPS and had pain that moved around which sounded like TMS.

I was just curious and I wondered what you all thought.

Thanks.

Jade,
I was diagnosed with RSD. When I checked out the web MD on this it scarred me to death. Showed it to my husband and he immediatly said "that's TMS!" It is almost 3 yrs. now with highly sensitized "pinky toes". I tried EVERYTHING and have come to believe it is, and I quote Sarno "Extreme TMS". I too like Colleen lost my mom and had some heavy business issues at the time. The business has been resolved but not the loss of my wonderful mother. This has been extremly tramatical with no end in sight. I just miss her so much! My problem lingers every single day! I am learning to cope and just deal with it.

Hi Holly.

Thanks for your post. I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. I lost mine ten years ago so I know something of what you are going through. I hope it gets better for you as time passes.

Thanks again.

Jade

Jade have you been diagnosed with CRPS (RSD)? There was a Dr. on this forum who that felt RSD was TMS. His Name was Dr. Fatteh I think.
