you're right, I should have said cancer could be a mind & body syndrome, not tms. Sometime we just use "tms" as a catch all word.
I heard of a lady, Anita Moorjani, in Hongkong that she had cancer, went into a coma, near death, and somehow woke up and cure herself of cancer miraculously. She claimed to have went to the "other" world and saw the future and came back. I believe her recovery story is true, but not due to miracle. my thought is she just got rid of the cancer by herself. When near death, she just gave up, let go, and accepted her fate. She stop fighting and finally was able to relax, to feel peace, and that somehow awaken her immune system to the point that it destroy all those cancer cells.
Just a guess, by I hope my guess is true and someday we can teach ourself how to conquer all these horrible disease just by using mind power. :)

I know Anita well. She and I were friends & share a very similar background. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she was told that it wasn't too serious & that she should seek conventional treatment asap. She didn't & decided to go the alternative healing route which did not help. Despite it not working, she persisted for many years & her condition grew worse.
She was always into things like reincarnation & afterlife & karma etc. Very New age . Wanting to believe desperately. She also claimed she saw ghosts.
People like that can convince themselves that they have had near death experiences. There is no way of proving that they do or don't. I know that science has proven that when someone is critically ill or about to die that the brain produces enormous amounts of endorphins . These endorphins help to produce an overwhelming sense of peace & joy & love and all that. It also heightens the senses so people have heightened sensory feelings which allow them to hear & feel things they can't normally.
My take is that she was ready to live & not die, to take the proper treatment that would allow her to recover. Once she made that decision & stopped fighting & resisting, she healed quickly becoz she was ready to heal.
As Balto correctly says she used her own mind power to heal, the ultimate healing.
