I definitely believe that IBS is TMS. My husband had ulcerative colitis and it was pure hell for us both. It took forever for the docs to diagnose it and then he was on meds for quite awhile. I decided to move our family North two hours and he got a new job. It went into remission six months after we moved. Said he learned how to handle his stress. What a concept! This was seven years ago. About the time he got better, I started having TMS symptoms…I joke with him that he transferred all his stress to me . I started having IBS trouble and it was really bad. Almost two years ago I became a vegetarian and all my inflammation went away. At the same time I also learned about Sarno. I still have bloating and IBS flares. I notice it more when I am stressed or anxious, so I know that it is TMS related. Deep breathing and telling myself to relax the digestive system works well.
