I just started running for the first time in months. All of the sudden my upper back right around the shoulder blade went into pain. I made an appointment with a chiropractor. She said I had thrown a rib out and did a standard adjustment. Seemed to feel a little better but still felt tight and the soreness moved around. The next day the pain was on the other side of my back, same place.I have had tightness for quite a while (neck and upper back however this new phase is very interesting. The pain seemed to be spread out more and be more pronounced after the chiropractor.Anyway, I would like to hear from anyone with a similiar experience. Thanks |

How does one dislocate a rib? I would ask the chiropractor. Unless it was broken I would assume it is still in the proper place. Sounds like TMS to me. Marsha

I suffered with tms during running for a long time. For a period of a month or so, I had a painful, weak, right shoulder. I thought it might be to do with neck pain I was having, supposedly due to collapsed discs in my neck. I had a cortisone injection in my neck which did nothing, and was put on a wait list for neck surgerey, when I read and re-read Healing Back Pain, and the shoulder, neck, and back pain went away. |

I would stay away from the chiropractor and deal with the emotional rather than the physical, donnroc.
Just a thought!
Take care, Floss |
