Just a passing thought - maybe the results of this study might be partially explained by TMS?
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080217/thl-health-australia-work-edb91f1_2.html
"shop assistants have a greater chance of suffering back pain, jarring with the expectation that more muscle or bone injuries would be among construction workers or those in the transport, forestry or agriculture sectors where heavy lifting was required"
Maybe because in retail you often can't speak your mind? |

I would bet TMS is certainly involved here. Retail is definitely a source of rage, for both shoppers and employees!
I sometimes envy construction and other blue collar workers. Many seem to enjoy their jobs. They go to work for the day, perform intensive labor that helps keep them in physical shape, and then go home to their families leaving work behind. The work itself may be grueling at times but they don't face the same pressures as white collar workers, and they can't take a briefcase full of work home with them.
Of course, it is short sighted of studies like this to not even consider the possibility that psychological or emotional factors come into play. Unfortunately this is typical. They still don't get it. |

Yea, that's a reminder of why exercise is so important, for everyone, but especially people with TMS issues.
Reminds me of the movie "Office Space" - what does the burned out office worker end up doing in the end? Construction worker! Hahah, love that movie.
