A while back, I, accidently came across your personal attack on me, that you have inbedded in your Bio. I'll make you a deal, expunge it and I will not rebut it in my Bio. If not, then I guess we will discover how much information can be contained in our Bios, and people can make some pop-corn and be entertained.

May I kindly suggest that you two shake hands and say that you are sorry.
Alexis, you have a well written, truly beautiful story with a lovely happy ending. Good for you.

What I don't get is why you care about this so much. |

My personal feeling is, and I may be wrong, that unconsciously Tom may be a bit jealous of Alexis for recovering from her condition even when she did not fully embrace all of Dr. Sarno's concepts. Alexis is most certainly not a harcore Sarno devotee, yet she still recovered from her RSI.
******* Sarno-ize it! Do you have a pain-prone personality? http://www.bradyinstitute.com/aboutBook/painProne.asp |

I haven't really been here that long, and i don't really know what's going on. I respect Tom because he's helped me, and i respect Alexis because of her succes story. It's a good one, both understand Sarno's theories well, and probably better than i do.
But this kinda stuff doesn't really belong here... I don't see the means on this forum to send someone a message, most modern forums do seem to have that. So I understand that there might not be another way to do this.
You can type your bio full if you want to. But i don't think anyone is going to read it...

Wow, I just read Alexis' comments and I couldn't agree more. I too stoped posting to the board because of the same reasons. Read this post and tell me where I provoked Tom to lash out http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2296&SearchTerms=pain
I think Tom's TMS comes from his compulsion to show how smart he is by responding to every post. Come on get a life, take a break from the board for an hour, get some friends, go play tennis. How can you live life when you are tethered to the forum 24/7? As you can tell from the post above he claimed to miss a tennis match on TV just to send an ignorant reply. Maybe this is the only way he feels important is to tell everyone else how wrong they are.
Sorry Tom...had to say it (bash away). Gee my back feels a little better. |

I read Alexis's bio. Tom, no doubt about it. This person is, unconsciously, absolutely fascinated with YOU! |

Sean,
After reading your posts in the link you provided, I'm eager to know how you are doing a year later. Is your TMS faith restored or not? Any progress, or same level of pain? Thanks. |

wrldtrv, well I have tried other routes, but all have brought me back here. Recently I have started journaling (before I would just journal mentally) and I have seen a small improvement. Hopefully it will increase as time goes on. |

Sean,
Keep it up. It's a weird thing, but somehow just about evrybody who finds their way to the TMS forum, belongs here. Or so it seems.
It can be a long process. It can be especially difficult challenging assumptions that we've learned to accept without question. Who ever heard of continuing to run, for example, when it seems that it's the running that's causing the pain in the first place...?

Sorry Tom...had to say it (bash away). Gee my back feels a little better.
I'll reply in my bio when I have the time, since Alexis has started this precedent we'll see how it works out. Maybe we can contain all the nastiness, name calling and character assassination to there until and if we get an "off-topic" forum for it here.
In the meantime Sean's attack is so 180' off-base it does deserve noting. He is totaly clueless to my life, and is just taking a pot-shot. Glad it makes his back feel better but I'm sure it won't last. I have a happy, full, rich and rewarding life.
Obviously I didn't drive him from the board becuase he is HERE! I'll stay away from him if he stays away from me. It is human nature (or should be) to defend oneself when attacked, if you don't your gene pool won't be around long according to Darwin. And I guess he is equally clueless to the common practice on the internet called "goofing"...get a sense of humor!
There are other TMS boards, Tarpit has one, go there if this site doesn't float your boat or your're offended here!
I have NO problem with my contributions to the board. It must be a characteristic of those who DON'T want to keep their structural symptoms to misconstrue, and be super-sensitive to the help they purportedly seek. If it isn't sugar-coated and presented to them the way they want to hear it, they get pissed-off and run and hide...grow-up!
If you feel I am your enemy, so be it, that's your problem, keep the addage in mind: "Keep your friends close...and your enemies even closer" also "Your enemy who tells you the truth is a better friend than your friend who lies to you".
If you don't like my politics (which in reality what this is all about), don't forget you got your politics from the same media sources that have lied to you about the cause of your TMS symtoms.
As for Vnwees, post, I have no clue what that gibberish is about accept some veiled attack. Feel free to flesh it out into English if I've misconstued it as being a complement.
Once again, I came to this board because I was interested in the topic of TMS psychsomatic medicine and NOT to use it to make friends (or enemies) and have NEVER asked for support. If that's what YOU need the board for, so be it, but DON'T drive away people like me who are here to explore the important and fascentating topic of psychosomatic medicine.
When some of the "arguments" get so tautologicaly sublimely rediculous, don't look for me not to "goof" on you trying to save my sanity. I have a life (sorry Sean, YOU were probaly projecting) and I'm not going to waste my time changing TMS diapers for those who don't get it and don't really want to.
Sean, now I feel better, too!, Thanks for the healing.

TT,
Just curious...Why didn't you simply contact Alexis directly via her e-mail link rather than putting up another of these little forum bombs?

Art, why don't you ask Alexis why she embedded her lies about me in HER bio? I want NO contact with her and will stay away from her posts if she stays away from mine.
Also, your insinuation that when I post something it is a "bomb" rather than what it is, is why I will never trust you.
When YOU start a thread I don't make insinuations about your intentions. You can e-mail Alexis, you've made it obvious who your board "buddies" are and always have. I'n not here to make friends (or enemies), just to learn about TMS.

TT,
It's taken me a long time to understand that you are quite an angry man. I can't imagine spending so much time and energy over someone's bio, which 99 percent of the people on this forum would never have even read....until you brought their attention to it that is. Repeatedly now.
I'll try one more time. Why are you so bothered by it?
EDit: I know you're going to say I'm projecting on the anger thing as that's a standard reply, but just ask yourself, how is it that you've got so many feuds going on? It's not just one or two...There's something fueling that. What might it be?

Art you are projecting, and know darn little about me. I don't try to psycho-analyze you--unless you are licensed to do so, kindly don't analyze me.
When I should be angry, I feel angry, when I should feel, happy I feel happy, and so on, and so on...What business is it of your's.
In this case I'm not angry just trying to set the record straight. Why don't you talk to your board "buddy" Alexis and analyze her motives and anger issues?
But, if you'll want to chip in and pay for sessions with Dr. Donald Dubin to deal with my "anger" issues I'd be happy to take you up on it, if it makes you feel better.
He charges $150 a session. I'd enjoy a series of 12 to start. I'll do it by phone but if you'll will pony up I'd prefer to do them in person. He's a tennis player too, and we could swat some balls afterwards.
Last time Don and I talked, I don't recall any big anger issues...but who knows, hangin' at this board, dealing with the soft-headed and soft-hearted could certainly create some.
So if you really and truly care about me, you'll spear-head a fund-raiser to "Send TOM to DR. DUBIN" in Beverly Hills, or, could I talk you into sending me to Dr. Sarno? Put your money where your mouth is. I personally don't understand why you zero in on me all the time? There are other's here who need your TMS support--I don't--save your time and efforts for them.
Cheers, tt

SS,
I don't mind all that much what she says about me; heaven knows I've been called everything under the sun here, before they run-off and hide under the bed or where-ever. I just wanted to give Alexis the courtesy and opportunity to expunge her rather unusual method of defaming. Has anyone ever seen this method used here or anywhere else?
But if she dosen't, I'll start replying to her in my bio, and dollars to donuts, more people will be seeing what I have to say about her. It may actually be quite helpful to her when I offer MY armchair analysis of the origins of her psychosomatic symptoms.
I was just acting in the interest of fairness to her, I think it was Art who said she was sensitive...and I'm a bit sensitive at times myself.
Regards,tt

TT, have to say I'm with art here -- why do you even care? I'm not gonna psychoanalyze you (though I will note that much of the activity on this board involves people psychoanalyzing each other and I'd think you'd be used to it) but I am actually curious why you care. So you made another enemy, big deal, so some people don't like you, big deal. Put up your own rebuttal if you want, I don't think anyone cares beyond entertainment value that neither of you can really let go of this feud and what you think of each other.

What does this really have to do with TMS though? This is kind of turning into a flaming contest, and i think it will probably heat up a little more.
