I have a sister that has been diagnosed with lupus for several years now, though I understand that this is difficult to diagnose and is usually diagnosed by ruling out other maladies.

Does anyone know if the symptoms that are attributed to lupus coincide with TMS?

My sister generally fits the TMS personality type.

All is not as it seems . . .

bend-over-backwards,

I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that lupus is an autoimmune disorder and not the same as TMS. However, I believe Sarno says that emotions do play a role in autoimmune disorders, and that someone suffering from one may benefit from things like journaling, etc.

My doctor told me that lupus is diagnosed with a blood test -- it's one of things they ruled out for me.
