Hi all, I am new here. I am wondering if anyone went through a very emotional time and experienced achy underarms, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, an aching buttocks and legs, and burning/tingling leg pain. My symptoms lasted only a couple of weeks and I feel fine now.
Thanks,
B |

I had very similar symptoms four years ago and again in the past month (though now fading). Then and now I thought it could be M.S. or other neuro problem, but after neuro tests and MRI, all seemed normal. When you mentioned the achy underarms, buttocks, and legs, along with psych stress...that rung a bell for me. I'm pretty sure the stress has a lot to do with the problem (for me, anyway), if not the cause of the problem. |

It's "nice" to know that someone has experienced this. I was doing some research and I think it has to do something with the nerves not receiving enough oxygen during stress. I'm glad you're starting to feel better again.
Anyone else relate? |

Of course, it could have just been a virus.
Sometimes, it's not TMS |

I get the swollen lymph nodes from time to time...perhaps why I was so offguard in that post I wrote this morning about being caught 'napping'...a lot of the time the neck thing is a good TMS conversion.

I recently had swollen lymph nodes. Very painful and annoying. Went away after some time. It's all TMS. |

Not taking issue with you in particular, but in general terms I really think there's too much of a tendency on this forum to label everything under the sun TMS or a "TMS equivalent."
Sometimes things really do go a little screwy in our bodies for reasons that have nothing to do with our emotions...I can guarantee it.

After negative bloodtests for diseases that could cause neuralgia, what else could it be, art? |

I can't speak for others Art, but when all these symptoms keep moving around from one part of the body to the next, and Dr. Sarno warned us in advance this would happen as we apply the TMS treatment, then I don't get too alarmed with every new ache and pain I have. The brain is very ecclectic in its choice of symptoms. |

It seems I'm always harping away on logic and the logical fallacies I see committed on this forum all the time..I do that not because I'm an anal control freak (though some might argue that's what I am) but because this site and the things discussed here have come to mean quite a bit to me..
There are so many sites out there and so many forums where "alternative" health modalities are promoted and discussed, the vast majority of which are so much quackery...This place is different, but we need to be on guard against some of the sloppy thinking that characterizes so much of the Internet, as well as plain old every day life..
Buterfli, I have no idea honestly what your symptoms are, but I know for sure that just because your blood tests are negative you can't make an automatic, logically foolproof leap to TMS

Butterfli, My whole intro into the world of TMS began w/a wicked case of golfball sized glands w/normal bloodwork. It immediately followed an extremely difficult period w/family stress. It went away for months and then I started getting a variety of other strange symptoms. I now believe that gland thing was the first of many TMS symptoms. - Nor |

Agreed on all counts. All things will change, I just hope that this place is spared as long as possible.
Take care, -Stryder |

Me too, Stryder. Let's make a pact, you and I and anyone of like mind,to remain as vigilant and as proactive as we can..

Thank you, Nor, for sharing your similar symptom, what other "strange symptoms" are you having? And thank you to everyone else for their valid input. Maybe I'll never really know what it was that caused the viral-like symptoms and peripheral nerve pain, I guess it could have been TMS or anything else that can't be detected by a blood test. |

No problem, Butterfli. I had a real variety of things...chest pain, tightness in my throat, tingling/numbness/weakness all over, and periods of fatigue/malaise w/joint and muscle pain. Like most of us, I had everything tested and came up w/nothing. Since seeing and reading Sarno, I feel much better and only the latter of the symptoms comes and goes. I'm confident it will go away compleletely some day. Good luck. -Nor |
