Hello, new to the forum and I would appreciate some feedback. My biggest issue right now is my right hip/groin area and to a lesser extent my back (around the left rib). So the hip/groin pain started about 4 months ago. It's generally mild discomfort that can occur anywhere from my front hip (feels like near the joint) into the groin area and down into the groin muscle (inner thigh). I only feel it when I'm walking and it's generally mild except on a couple occasions where I was walking a lot. There was no injuries that I am aware of. I had an X-Ray done and there was no structural problems. I do notice that the groin muscle feels extremely hard. A couple weeks later the hot spot in my back appeared, again I only feel it if I move a certain way. Both issues tend to ebb and flow. In general my whole body feels achy and weird at times (hard to explain). I've also had muscle twitching for the last two years. Otherwise no other symptoms.

I have been to the doctors several times and I've had many blood tests done and they all have come back normal. I've had several talks with the doctor and I know she thinks it's all in my head, she even recommended therapy for me. A little back story on me. I suffer from moderate anxiety. And I do worry a lot. A panic attack two years ago sent my anxiety out of control, that's when the muscle twitching began. It took time to recover but I was doing alright until my hip area started bothering me then it seemed like everything went down hill again and all the problems started. So could this be TMS? I'm at the end of my rope on this one.

hi kevina

It sure sounds like tms to me.
All the symptoms you speak of I had and sometimes they return.
The twitching is not that unusual, there is even a forum on it: benign fasciculation syndrome (BFS). In time you learn to ignore it.
The groin/hip/lower back is also pretty common. Intensity and location often oscillate.
In me it all kinda started with anxiety too.

hope you find what you are looking for, on this forum or on the TMSwiki forum, which is also great.

take care

If you've had a full workup and you've been cleared, then you can start TMS healing safely.

Gather all the information into the nature of the disorder: Dr. Sarno's pillar #1. Then, once you understand it, move to pillar #2, which is to ACT on that information. Reading it alone does little for most people, beyond relaxing them into a temporary state of wellness.

Belief is the main key in healing. If you can't get past that your physical body is ok, it's tough to heal.

There's work to do. But you can heal from TMS. Your mental outlook must change to a new perception of awareness. Slow your mental chatter down and breathe to relax. Let your body fall heavy and begin to correlate your symptoms to your un-felt emotions.
