Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum. I am a 52y/o wife, mother, Grandmother, & disabled registered nurse. For the past 16 years, I have suffered with chronic neuropathic pelvic pain. I've tried medications, gynecological surgery x's 6, trigger point injections, cryosurgery, radiofrequency x's2, neurostimulators x's6, calmare therapy, & finally ended up with a Medtronics pump to receive dilaudid/bupivacaine through my epidural space of my spinal cord 24/7. On September 4,2013, I flew out to Scottsdale, AZ to receive 2 treatments of adipose stem cells for a study for peripheral neuropathy done by California Stem Cell Institute. They have a list of physicians nation wide involved in their numerous studies. I chose Dr. Todd Malan of Innovative Cosmetics in Scottsdale, AZ. He is a board certified ob/gyn & cosmetic surgeon. On my pre-op visit, Dr. Malan spent 2 hours going over my medical records; explaining the different types of stem cells & their function in the body; the process of obtaining the stem cells from fat cells of the abdomen through a mini-liposuction; next the process of separating the stem cells from the fat cells by spinning them in a centrifuge & having the stem cells counted by a connected computer; Then he explained the delivery methods of the stem cells into my body by IV & Injection; Dr. Malan then explained to me that once the stem cells enter into my body, they are attracted to inflammation like a magnet. That these tiny stem cells act like "PAC MANS" gobbling up scar tissue, & rebuilding blood vessels, nerve cells, tissue, cartilage, ligaments, etc. Depending upon your type of injury or area of inflammation; finally, Dr. Malan talked about the importance of daily journaling; the fda study itself; & the 3 year follow-up. On September 5,2013, Dr. Malan obtained 60 million stem cells from my abdomen. He gave me 15 million by IV & injected 45 million adipose stem cells into my nerve damaged vaginal cuff. On day 1 after the procedure, I noticed tremendous energy & a 2-3 point decrease in my pain level. I also noticed on day 2 that my horrible back spasms from my pump & a bulging lower back disc had disappeared completely. My granuloma skin disease was very much better with less inflammation. I am thoroughly pleased with my experience/care under Dr. Malan & his kind Christian Staff. They truly care & pray for their patients. The clinic was very modern & clean. The cost for the 2 treatments was a total of $12,000. I had called other clinics outside the U.S. They wanted anywhere from $25,000-$30,000 for 1 treatment!! Plus I am happy that my data will go before the FDA to offer proof that stem cells therapy works & to get stem cell therapy here in the U.S. The word needs to get out to Americans about these clinics offering adipose stem cell therapy. The FDA forbids these clinics from advertising. If you are even considering stem cell therapy, you don't have to be in a study in order to receive them. Dr. Malan told me of miraculous healings of an elderly gentleman with Parkinsons disease who couldn't walk or talk....He gave him one treatment in the clinic. Two weeks later, the elderly man called Dr. Malan on the phone & held a conversation with him!! Dr. Malan clinic will supply you with other patients email address/phone # if you ask for them. Dr. Malan is a very kind Christian who will tell you truthfully if you are a good candidate. Today, I am on Day 25, my pain levels have been at 2 all day long. Last week, I had a flare up. I panicked & emailed/left message on Dr. Malan's cell phone. He reassured me that this was normal. That it is so early in the course of my therapy (total 4 months). He assured me that my pac man stem cells are still working. Here is Dr. Malan's office phone #480-998-7999/cell#480-287-0004. The address is 7425 E. Shea Blvd Suite 107 Scottsdale, AZ. I would call the office # first. The staff are great at getting messages to him. Plus the staff are very knowledgeable could answer your questions. But if they can't answer the question, they will make sure that he gets your phone # along with your questions. They will set up a time for Dr. Malan to call you that day. If you are like me, tried everything available in the U.S. & want to try stem cells. I say go for it! Your body is going to benefit from the stem cells that God has given to you! One last thing, the FDA is trying to label stem cells as medication! The pharmaceutical companies cannot patent stem cells without the fda's label. If this happens, then there will not be any stem cell trials for another 9 years!!! It's a war of politics, money, & greed! Please email your state representatives & the white house (President Obama). This is God's medication that needs to made available to every American now!! Please email me if you have any questions. Dr. Malan will be guest stem cell physician for the month of November on Stem Cell Pioneers Forum. They ask for the questions in October. They will send your answers to you by email or see them on the forum. I will keep you updated with my progress...take care.............Peg1
