As I started working this program I thought I had processed all the rage from my early life. Last night at 2:00 am as I laid in bed in so much pain I wanted to jump up and scream and pound hole in the walls I realized I may be angry at my condition and lot in life.
This condition has stolen everything I love to do, it has taken any possibility of a moments peace and being pain free, it makes work nearly impossible. We used to travel extensively and now I spend hours in bed suffering. I can hardly walk room to room much less hike, run, bike and all the things I love.
I am also aware that my sensitive nervous system and anxiety has stolen most of my life and made everything difficult.
Has anyone else become aware of this rage against the condition.
I know I need to write about it –anything else that you found helps.

Yes, very much and horribly so, but the good news is that I've found you can drop through levels of insight with this. You become Alice, falling down the rabbit hole, noticing many many things until you land with a bump on your truth. As with all tumbles the landing lacks dignity but it sure.
I'm currently in a state where my pain is immense but I am less concerned, less battered by it because I'm beginning to understand it. Really understand it.
I too have a life hiding in yesterday's pockets but it was me who abandoned it. Steve O once described tms as esoteric. I find this to be true. All I can do for now is drag every sorry wretched fear into the light and look at it until it no longer has any power over me. Sweet Nicole speaks of this. Do you have her book? She's a kind one. Maybe if she has time she can pen some thoughts on this.
Really though only we can drag our festering demons from their holes. The Egyptians used to say "God enters from below." Here's to composting, and the tender blooms our lives will become.
With a hug. |

It is the case that many times we find ourselves in a situation in which we are unable to express our true feelings. Furthermore, there are times we cannot do anything about the situation we find ourselves in, such as changing or distancing ourselves from it. This is especially the case when one is a child and a victim of abusive parents. The child cannot fight back, cannot express his/her feelings, nor can they remove yourself from the situation. Even many adults find themselves in situations similar to this. Totally trapped and unable to express their true feelings. No wonder people find themselves in such pain. |

If I were a professional therapist I would ask you to focus on the word "may" and inquire why you used it. When you say "may" there is a possibility, at least in your mind, that there are no anger issues in your life. So you are unsure whether you are angry at your condition and lot in life. Think about that. Go into yourself and see how you really feel. Try repeating the sentence and drop the "may" and see if that is closer to the truth of how you currently feel.
But this uncovering the emotions, if I understand ACE's keys to healing at all, is not going to be enough to bring about recovery. You could journal until the end of time and it still would not get you to where you want to go. Pay attention to those thoughts that are running through your head as you lay there in bed or go about your day. What are they telling you? Are they telling you the truth? Can you know for sure that what your mind is telling you is 100% accurate? If you believe what your mind says then yes, it is true for you. Ace has taught us to use affirmations to counter this mind chatter. If a negative or self defeating thought comes into your mind, then have a simple counter - affirmation at hand and repeat it several times a day -- hundreds of times if necessary. If you, or anyone else reading this, send me a private e-mail I will send you, as an attachment, a meditation tape produced by TMS Dr. Howard Schubiner.
Best wishes! |

If by "condition" you mean your TMS symptoms, this is not an ingredient of the unconscious rage that you seek. This would be circular reasoning.
The symptoms are caused by repressed rage. No doubt the symptoms themselves cause anger and frustration as they affect our lives in such a profound way. However, the repressed negative feelings that are the cause of the symptoms are in a different category.
So, while it is natural to feel "rage against the condition" this is not an ingredient of the reservoir of rage that lies in your unconcsious.
You say "I thought I had processed all the rage from my early life" but I'm not sure what this means. We never reach a point where we can know and understand all the unconscious rage. Even if we did, we could not know it. By definition the unconscious rage cannot be felt. We can only explore the potential sources, i.e. things going on in our life that lead to negative feelings that we repress rather than allow ourselves to feel.
Remember, it doesn't matter that we cannot truly know the sources of the unconscious rage. It is the act of exploring potential sources that is important. This sends a message to your mind that you will force yourself to think about negative emotions and not repress them. It thwarts the TMS strategy. It reconditions your response to the symptoms. Over time, this reconditioning process takes the power away from the symptoms and they fade, or at least reach a point where they are just a nuisance. They become a welcome message to address our emotional health. |

Hey, you posted this same thing on the Unlearn your Pain Mind Body Educational Program of Dr. Schubiner.
Are you the same person as there or did you copy and paste someone elses?
