You and your colleague decide that you need to build a removable screen between your desks to reduce talking, joking and increase concentration.

A bottle of wine (essential), your dearest friend (a wicked sense of humour), and THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST!
Ah, is this not happiness (and surely the lowest point culture can descend). |

So sorry about Bonnie.. What did you think about our song??
For the first in time in 15 years I watched the contest from beginning to end, even filled in a score card with some good friends. I feel so gay tonight
ah, is this not happiness.. |

Speaking of feeling gay, how magnificent was Cezar? Romania beat us both in the hilarity stakes!
Eurotrash.

"only teardrops...". So cheesy it is almost enjoyable!
And plum, what's up with the UK, with such a proud music-making history, to come up with such a dorky song?

I know, completely indefensible. And she started in the wrong key. Poor lass. Cue musical jokes, Holding Out For a Zero and Total Eclipse of Talent are the two most popular. |

Meeting an old Irish sea-dog in an English tea-room and relishing a bittersweet conversation about the demise of art and culture. I raise my glass to every soul who celebrates the old ways.
Ah, is this not happiness. |

Playing in your friends garden with their two golden labradors...and they have a treehouse! (your friend, not the dogs, obviously).
Ah, is this not happiness.
(Hi RSR, I'm reading Laurel Mellin's 'Wired for Joy'. It's brilliant. xxx) |

hahahaha gigalos!
A quote I read, by Louisa May Alcott, which really resonated w/ me:
I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.
ah, is this not happiness ... to really FEEL as if I AM learning how to sail. my. ship. !!!
(WOW plum !! I'd be so interested in hearing your thoughts on Wired for Joy. Laurel Mellin changed my life. It was HER work which has been SO influential in my learning how to sail my ship.) |

It's your first naturewalk in three months. Halfway you are greeted by two wrens twittering a meter away from you. The cherry on top is a woodpecker trying to destroy a dead tree that's in its way. Thank you mother nature, that was kind.
ah, is this not happiness..
I found out that walking alone is the hardest, as you have little distraction. You never guess what was sitting on the middle of the road today when I was halfway... a little wren.
ah, is this not happiness..
RSR, don't be bothered when the course you're sailing isn't a perfect straight line, it is the way to discover some nice tropical islands... |

Ahhhhhhhhhh... is this not happiness .... to be greeted on the board by a warm, reassuring message and feeling supported. OK, I got my sunglasses on in anticipation of a nice tropical island.
THANKS gigalos! |

Some relief at having gone to the doctor's.
Kindness and affirmation from plum.
Having a friend call me up and invite me to something fun over the long weekend.
Coming to the end of my over-the-top situational stress and realizing what it might mean to my well-being.
aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh is this not a kind of happiness ...

Remembering that you used to relish homemade lollies as a kid (poor mum, our kitchen must have been an utter mess but this is what happens when you give little people books called 'Look I can Cook), and deciding that you simply must make raspberry ripple lollies soon. Fresh raspberries and custard on a stick!!
Ah, is this not happiness.

Having a cosmic twin.
aaaahhhhh, is this not a little bit of happiness on a down day.
(not sure what a homemade lollie even IS! don't think we have those here, but "raspberry ripple" sounds delightful and refreshing!) |
