Guys,
This is kinda gross but one of my biggest problems with the Prostatitis or CPPS is this painful "ANUS" like the sphincter or opening where waste comes out. It is in spasm sometimes and other times it feels like when the urologist sticks his finger up there...but the finger doesn't leave. And it causes surrounding pain in the piriformis, testicles base of penis, penis tip, like my nerves are being squeezed inside my penis. I have been married 3.5 years and have never has sex without pain (as i didn't until I was married) and I have yet to figure out how to cure this. I do daily relaxations. I have read Dr. Clarkes book, Steve O's book, John Sarno's Books. I have tried to write it out, say it out, do daily relaxation tapes et cetera.
Steve O or anyone that has any suggestions I am open. Since it first started its probably 3-4 out of 10 and never higher. The first year was massively high cause I did the "finger in the anus looking for trigger points" from therapist which was the MOST pain I have ever had in my life. Recently...so stressed about sex I am having trouble with erection and I am 28! It makes me despondant. My wife is understanding but I am a mess. Anyone?

Hi Whoaday,
Sorrry, I can’t help with this one. You might try the search feature. Also another user, Racer has similar issues in that region, perhaps read his posts.
Here’s what I wrote about your symptoms in a previous post:
2. Tactless Mysterious Syndrome TMS pain has no manners. It can come and go any time, sometimes usually for no apparent reason. It doesn’t even care if you are in the middle of an important speech. It’s tactless in the extreme, planting itself in those somewhat embarrassing parts of your body. (Don’t be embarrassed, or it will win!)

Good luck, wishing you well

Had it, it is horrible and it is 100% TMS.
David Wise, Ph.D., wrote a book "A Headache in the Pelvis" which I read. But he does not believe in TMS so the book will not be helpful. He knows Sarno's work and even met him, but is not convinced. But I am convinced that what you describe as having is TMS. Keep doing the work, as outlined in the TMS books you have read, and be patient.

Head and rear pain were 2 of the few pains I never had. But when the TMS physicians reviewed my manuscript they wrote into my Appendix A, "severe rectal pain; levetor ani." I had never heard of it but they saw it regularly in their practices. It's a common TMS symptom. If you've been checked out for other problems then Shawn Smith is right, it's 100% TMS.
One of the things that caught my eye was when the MDs used the word "severe" in handwriting it into my Appendix. I told them it was a pain in the ass to do it, but I would add it to the list of TMS ailments.
As far as erections that's a hard subject. Aren't they supposed to be painful? And why we want to get rid of them all the time?
I suspect there is guilt or shame over the sex, possibly once feeling it was a bad thing, or being unconsciously shamed into thinking it was somehow wrong. The same thing Groddeck called "punishing a sin against a commandment." Relax, and have fun. It's a natural process. Don't focus on the pokus.
I could be wrong though, I also think squirrels are talking about me.
