and well Steve if you read this I am not surprised at what happened to your wife, but it is so tragic it broke my heart. As a nurse working on a surgical floor in those years we did one lami after another, and at that time hosp. stay was usually over a week, with PT to follow. Also did a lot of Turp, prostate surgeries. There is a lot of bread and butter in the surgeries for the surgeons, but thank God that now doctors are more worried about lawsuits, and they , the good ones, try everything before surgery. Sometimes surgeries are necessary of course. Anyway I'm new into the book and so far I appreciate the writing and I see you did a lot of homework. I have Sarno's books also, so I will continue to report. |

Any progress LuvtoSew? I'll never forget that laminectomy night from hell, it took 7 1/2 hours. That neurosurgeon was the president of the US congress of neurological surgeons at the time and he had never seen such a mess. He was swearing and throwing things around the hospital.
It's a tough situation for doctors, if they do too much they get labeled as scamming from the insurance, if they don't do enough they get sued for not having tried everything.
But in some cases, like mine, it was pure malpractice. In a life or death situation where any action would have saved the patient they chose to do nothing because they didn't want to step on the other doctors' toes. They cared more for each other than their patient.
We need good doctors, but they can't be good doctors unless they're good people first.
