In the past I have had this but it never lasted very long so I did not give it much thought. Since I have read The Divided Mind and The Mind Body Prescription, my bladder symptoms are a little better but now it feels like I have been working out my glutes for hours and hours the day before. My glutes, and down my leg and lower middle back are hurting and very tender and I have not done any exercise! Mind Body symptoms? Does anyone else experience this? I am seeing Dr. Stracks this week I cant wait to here what he says about how to GET WELL besides reading! |

Hi mchan,
I experience this since 2009, pain occured during a period of intense (and self-made) stress. Thought it was because of prolonged sitting on hard chairs at the university, now I know it is TMS and it's slowly getting better. My glutes and legs were so tensed that I wasn't able to sit any more and even during the night I couldn't sleep without painkillers. I am painfree when I lie but sitting on hard chairs or sitting longer than an hour still causes pain in my right glutes (bad conditioning, I work on that), but it's much better! The medicines told me it's because of a former accident and a defective position of my right ankle + hip. They also told me that I must not sit too long (I was asked "how long at a stretch do you usually sit?" I answered "well, minimum for an hour when I teach a pupil". Medicine:"whaaaaaaaat? Much toooo long, you have to get up and walk around after 10 mins at the latest!") I am sure the medicine didn't want to harm me, but that's the way to generate really bad conditioning). But I think that's nonsense.
Really sounds like TMS!

HI Mchan, Yes, symptoms seem to change. My symptoms went from upper back, lower back butt pain and hip pain to ankle pain, hot spots thru out the whole body and exhaustion. I've been receiving TMS therapy from a specialist in TMS. He says he believes I can't seem to believe that I have TMS. Evidence goes to TMS, but I guess i can't convince myself. I will try more and more. Belief can be hard. Best of luck to you. |

My pain has always been in my butt and in my low back...except for a brief period when it went to the knees, and I noticed the back felt better. Now the knees feel better and the back and butt is killing me again!!! But now, I believe that I must have it on the run, because of it moving around...mostly it stays in my back and butt, I guess it knows that is a safer spot...but I continue to work on my emotional side and journal, and am now thinking about my dreams and what they mean, because I think that has to be a big source of my subconscious thinking. I hope you will feel better soon!!!

Yes! I also have knee pain, that is gone right now with the butt pain..Still trying to believe all this, I convinced myself through research online that body pain is because of sugars in diet...ugh. |

if you believe it mchan-like you just know your shoes are on your feet -and you put them on everyday-at first you had to learn the ropes about tying your shoes and so forth but then it became second nature-or like riding a bike -its hard at first but you keep on and then you (get better) ask me why i thought of shoes-i dont know-the point is every one takes different times to learn stuff before it becomes second nature-if all you do is study tms like you did the divided mind and keep on till it gets intresting and you can really feel it in youer heart, then youll notice that little pain that you never thought about much has left-then your on your way-it has to be second nature for it to work-i tryed the or wanted to heal just by reading the book-but i had to and am still putting all the work in -its helped me in every other area of my life too.ihope this helps |

The shoe analogy is good, because sometimes it takes time to learn and then its second nature. I woke up this morning with my knots in my neck and the mind body stuff came to mind right away, and then little thoughts about how maybe it was my diet came up with it but I denied those and am believing its because I had a bad dream last night about my past, I am starting to believe it, on the right path. |
