My partner doesn't have pain per se to work through as i do, but he does have: workaholism and overeating and lack of sleep. Anxiety and depression, too, in their own way. Just more psychological stuff, i'd say, rather than physical.
He travels a lot too. I am looking a) to find him an online therapist or coach to work with (as he doesn't drive) and b) also a forum he can check into every day for support. Just to read if nothing else for a little bit, to keep his mind going in the right direction. he has agreed that he would like the support right now, especially when he is on the road.
i have been telling him about TMS, etc... ever since i have started on my journey so he is well aware of all the concepts and thrilled for me that i am doing this.
would this forum work? or is there a better one for his needs? many thanks,

Hi glowgirl and partner,
Thank you for adding to my thread. I would say all of the above. It sounds like your partner should be in physical pain with all the things he is dealing with. The best part is that he has agreed to get help- the first sign of admission that something is wrong, he is unhappy. As a male I know how hard this first step is!
I would start with him using Google to find a forum/s for his needs, let him find it. Let him get that connection and belonging with others with the same issues. As far as an online therapist I would say that would be you to start with, as you know him the best and are open to TMS and physiological ideals.
As you know SteveO’s book is very therapeutic, he should read it; after all he is in pain.
I wish you both get well together.

thanks Andy for your reply... i find a lot of forums are loaded with nocebos! so i don't want him getting pain if he doesn't have it yet. also, workaholics don't tend to stop working unless they have a compelling reason. i was just looking for something positive perhaps, somehow. on this forum i often think of that lists that people have, over time, submitted of the things they have healed from. isn't that an incredible list? and i think of the stories so many of told of what seem to be impossible feats. they defy what the mind knows to be true. he is starting with the Presence Process, but, being very scientific, i think he'd love seeing something like this where miracles are occurring. okay, ... they seem like miracles to me... even if on some level they make perfect sense. |
