Hello everyone
I just joined this wonderful forum. I had Dr. Sarno's book for a few months but am just now reading it and started doing the journaling last night. My problem is that I've had some tingling/burning in feet and lower legs for about 10 months now. I've had lots of tests done - blood, vascular, EMG (all normal). My MRI showed something but it is not attributable to my symptoms. In fact, the dr. said people have this and it might not be anything. Then 6 months later I did the EMG and it was normal. The technician that did the vascular said I had beautiful veins (yei! who would know? :) Anyway, it all started after a move from overseas with two little kids. Lots of stress, because my blood sugar started dropping (I have hypoglycemia), and the dr. sending me to the neurologist, and then oncologist as they found a protein in my blood that should not be there (thank God it was a lab error!) but I was freaking out the whole time. Along with some marriage issues. I am now taking anti-anxiety medication as I was getting daily panic attacks. It is working and am hoping to wean off as soon as I can. I also went to the foot dr. re. the tingling/burning and he said I have neuropathy. I am convinced it is TMS given all the anxiety, etc? What do you all think? Any other tips for me? thanks all!!!

Welcome aboard the TMS love/soul train HappyStar. It sounds like this stuff is resonating with you as they say today or was it yesterday they said that? You've had the tests and they give you a clean bill, that's the first step to move onto implementing the TMS/Sarno strategy. Just stay the course and keep absorbing the "knowledge penicillin" by reading the books and listening and viewing other TMS materials. I've known too many foot doctors to believe all their calls. I like your web monicker, "HappyStar". It displays a good positive attitude. When they come on here with names such as SickPuppy, PainForever, or ChronicallyCrippled, it makes things difficult. Sounds like you're doing great! Take a look in my sig below for some helpful stuff. Take the Rahe/Holmes test to give you the scientific causes for the creation of TMS psychosomatic tension symptoms.

Cheers

Hi Tennis Tom,
Thanks so much for your message. I will review the links you provided. I also like your name - do you play tennis? or do you wear tennis shoes? ;-)
Thanks for commenting on my screenname. I am learning to be more positive as it only helps things.
Just one more comment on my issues: I also believe my hypoglycemia could be psychological triggered by stress. My blood sugar does drop and I feel terrible, but it gets worse when I am under a lot of stress. So that tells you something. And of course the anxiety is psychological. It is amazing how powerful the mind is. I will be fine, slowly getting better and now that I know about TMS I feel even better and have a lot of faith about the "cure"!!!
Love and light to you!

Yes, I play tennis as much as I can but it's been raining a lot lately so I'm watching the tournaments on TV absorbing the game by osmosis. I wear shoes when I play but can play bare-foot if I forget them, it's a good way of sanding off those plantar's warts. My favorite way of playing is barefoot on grass, courts that is, I'm sure that's how the game is played in heaven. Off court I wear Minnetonka driving moccasins.

As to your "hypoglycemia", it could well be TMS also. The emotions create the hormones and not the other way around. Try a "SEARCH" here above for it, most everything that ails humanity has been touched on here. Read TMS books and you'll find all your answers in them. You can also research Amazon's "Inside this Book" word search, it's much better then book's indexes--then buy the book to put a few bucks into TMS authors pockets. No one's getting rich off of writing TMS books, the Good Doctor's just "retiring" at ninety.

G'luck,
tt

Great that you play tennis! It is a fun sport! And playing barefoot and touching the grass must be wonderful. I think it keeps you grounded.
I have something good to report. I am going to therapy and showed dr. Sarno's book to my psychologist. She seemed very interested and fully agrees with his theory. She is going to get the book. I asked her to help me "unmask" my repressed rage. I am a pleaser and do not get angry much, never have. Always wanted to be a nice person to all to be accepted. This goes along the lines with what Dr. Sarno mentions in his book. So I have my psychologist full support and she will help me with this process. I am happy and thankful!
I will research and keep reading about TMS. Leaving alone my symptoms I find this a fascinating subject. And I love to learn. Thanks again for your valuable advise.
