i caught a pretty bad head cold friday after not having a cold for about 3 1/2 years. on saturday night i realized that aside from the cold symptoms i had not one of my usual tms symptoms, no ibs, no back ache, no eye floaters..nothing. i was so focused on trying to breathe through my nose that it became a great distraction from my tms gremlin..anybody else notice this?
What I noticed is that I just had cold symptoms and no headache. I used to get headaches with a common cold and thought it was due to the congestion. When I had my last cold, I still had the congestion but this time no headache. It was awesome!
Getting a cold once or twice a year is normal , means your immune system is working properly. Hence If you “ never” get sick or are “always” getting sick than that means your system is on overdrive and not doing its job like its supposed to. Perhaps a compromised, taxed or over burdened immune system .
Remember The body is amazing and knows how to heal it self too. Sometimes the body crashes( esp when you run down immune system) and gets sick because it needs to rest to heal . Getting sick can be a good thing if you learn to listen to your body on its first warning .
And yes often times as with anything a pain ( or getting sick) can serve as a distraction and take away from another symptom. I think the key here is learn to listen to your body. And do what is right to get better. Focus on the good .Celebrate each day when you feel good and repeat feeling good ,eating good , exercising the body /mind, and living life at peace with yourself and others.
