This topic was brought up by Holly. (About the danger with "getting new symptoms" from other posts ) The board is a bit like journaling. I have benefitted a lot fron Nancy Selfridges book "Freedom fron fibromyalgia" and would like to quote her.
"The most important rule: Do not write about your pains and other symptoms. Itīs counterproductive, so we absolutley forbid it.Donīt write about the temperature, what activities youīve done (or left undone),what you ate,how well or poorly you slept, or what medicine you took. They all have little to do with what causes your pain and symptoms and what you can do to get rid of it. Consider all those thoughts your brainīs way of distracting you from confronting the anger, grief, or shame that may be boiling up inside you. Thatīs what you must focus un now"

I just happen to be reading a book on buddhism which mentions a buddhist monk who made up 50 sayings for his students to memorize, in order to help them to be better buddhists...living in the moment etc.
One of the sayings is "never speak of an injured limb!"
That is not the only thing I found in the book that mirrors my experience with healing from TMS. It's a very interesting book called The Places That Scare You. I don't recall the author's name right now but if anyone wants more info, I'll be happy to provide it. |

I wonder about this. I wrote to my mind today in order to tell it the various reasons for which my symptons couldn't be the result of physical problems.

There's a blance here. Journaling may keep reminding you about your condition but it help enormously to look back and see where you have come, if as I do, you're recording your physical activities and a little about my physical condition, |
