Hi,

I don't normally post here, but I wanted to let you know that Dr. Schubiner and I are sponsoring a TMS lecture at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago next Thursday, April 28 at 6PM. Details can be found at http://classes.nmh.org/listing/detail/CIMW%2BMind-Body%2BBooster%2BSession%253A%2B%2BUnlearn%2BYour%2BPain

For anyone in Chicago or the surrounding area, I run a TMS program at Northwestern based on Dr. Schubiner's 4 week TMS program (unlearnyourpain.com). Dr. Schubiner is coming into town next week to give this talk which is open to the public and then to speak to some Northwestern internists at the hospital the following morning.

If you have questions, feel free to call my office at 312-926-3627 and I'll also try to check back here each of the next few days.

Thank you so much for posting this, Dr. Stracks. I am doing the program just with the book and would love to come but I live too far. I just want to tell you that of all the books I've read, I relate best to Dr. Schubiner's and although I am only in week 2, I am so hopeful for the first time in my life. Bless both of you and if you are ever on the east coast, please post here again.

Thanks to Dr. Stracks and to Dr. Schubiner.

The talk last night had to be moved to a larger venue, due to the larger number in attendance.

It is a shame that the entire thing couldn't have been videoed. There was a slide presentation by Dr. Schubiner and then a Q&A after wards.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE MONTHS INTO WORKING ON THEIR PROBLEMS AND WHO MAY SOMETIMES GET DISCOURAGED (like me):

Included live in the presentation Q&A was a man from Indianapolis who had overcome years of pain with Sarno techniques. One of his main thoughts was to "keep pushing" and to keep going on with life. His "cure" didn't happen after one quick read of HBP. He was afflicted for years with pain and it took him quite awhile to get over it. Now, though close to 60, his is active in various sports and activities.

Also, in Dr. Schubiner's slide show was a testimonial from another man who took better than 15 months to beat back his pain problems.

Personally, it was a journey. The last "TMS Booster" session Dr. Stracks had at Northwestern was back in December 2010. When I walked through the lobby and up to the conference room last night I was amazed at how different my physical condition was. I was much more comfortable. Sometimes you don't realize the improvements until you undergo a personal marker. Then you understand that, yes, I am progressing and not regressing or even standing still! Not all of us are going to get the "book cure", and I think that is so important to understand.

Getting together for knowledge and for support is very helpful, just as this forum and Wikki are helpful.

I didn't get a chance to buy Dr. Schubiner's book, but I will get ahold of it in the near future.

Thanks Dr. Stracks for the session. Just to think of the number of self-selected people who showed -- how they must represent just a tip of the iceberg of pain suffers out there.
