I finally went to see Dr. Stracks in Chicago, took the train, and it was quite pleasurable. I already knew nothing was wrong physically, but it still felt good to hear from a professional. We talked and he helped me with probably my three biggest issues.

1. my future (career). I believe I worry a TON about becoming a Police Officer, maybe because of my smaller build compared to a lot of officers (TMS happened during a workout routine at school), or possibly because of the TMS that is trying to prevent me from working out as hard as I like, so the uncertainty of finally applying and getting the ball rolling (I graduated May 09 and found out about TMS in July 10).

2. a relationship with a relative (not getting into much detail here)

3. possibly some bullying that occured in highschool (again not getting into much here)

Would it be a good thing to focus on these for multiple days at a time with journaling, meditation, and positive affirmations, or maybe even a week at at time, and then focus on maybe some other past stressors after these are completed? I don't know, just curious.

I think a little journaling every day, or most days is probably a good approach. I wouldn't think devoting a set amount of time to this or that issue is the best way to go..

Bear in mind, from the TMS standpoint, you don't have to dot every emotional 'i" and cross every "t." For most, the general acceptance that the pain is emotional, not structural is enough for substantial improvement.
