Hey gang,

Been a long while. I thought I was "cured." Hah! In the last month I've had a hamstring pull, knee problems, and as of today metatarsalgia. It's all so old and tiresome.

The chink in my TMS armor has been the age factor. I say to myself, "I'm 59 years old. What do I expect?" It's a powerful argument courtesy of my wily old subconscious and it's got me on the defensive.

I think it's fear, not rage as per sarno, but what does it matter?

Looking to renew my faith...

Best,
Art

Hey Art!

Sarno talks about the age factor.
You can hear it in this interview from May.

Hi Art, I remember you from several years ago. The age thing hit me like a ton of bricks @ 60. I had been pretty symptom free and really couldn't account for the reoccurance for any other reason. I had a young friend that had a heart attack and I started thing that, man , if that could happen to her at 39, what will 61 look like. Also, you kinda begin to face that last chapter, so to speak. I'm 61 now and have worked thru most of it but I think tms is just a lifelong journey. As you know, Sarno talks about the aging thing quite alot. No big deal. Just treat it like you always have. This too shall pass. susie

Thanks, guys. I enjoyed that interview quite a lot Carol, and I can identify with much of what you say about your own situation Sue.

The trouble with aging of course is it brings in a whole new dimension that as far as I'm concerned complicates things immensely. We begin to break down as we get older; injuries that once seemed unlikely suddenly appear less so...

As you so wisely say Sue, tms is a lifelong proposition...

Art,
59 is far from old dear friend! But, I do understand your feelings completely! I have a friend who is 86 yrs old and plays tennis every day! It's amazing what we can overcome if we use our minds properly..
Hugs,
Karen
