Hi I need someone to help me with this one quick please.
My wife is presently suffering with a powerful migraine for the 3rd day already and I need to find the name of the shot they give you when you normally end up in the ER with something like that .
I need the name it in order to local a physician by phone that would have it available instead of running around all over the place.I use to live in Europe at the time I had migraines and am not familiar with the med names over here. We live on an island and taking care of this is not as easy as one would think nor do I have much time. we do not have medical insurance and money ran out already.
The situation is pretty bad and difficult because on Tuesday she was diagnosed with a viral ulcer deep in her throat after ending up in the urgent care, it is extremely painful . There is nothing to do about it, there is no existing treatment. Hopefully after a few days it should start to improve. As for now she can not talk at all, eat or swallow and can not sleep at all.
She's had migraines for a long time and usually she takes care of it with Zomic but this time the problem is that she ran out of the Zomic and I couldn't get it renewed on time to prevent a migraine from coming on and now she has it on top of the other condition with both horrible pains at the same time and I need to get her the shot but I do not know the name of it .One time she ended up in the ER in NY aand they gave her the shot and after 15 minutes the migraine was gone so she knows it exist but does not remember the name of it . We can not afford the ER so it's not an option. all I need is the name(s) of the shot if anyone knows it and I'll find a physician to inject it.
Two thoughts: The doctor will likely know what injection will work. I recently had the worst migraine I've had in 15 years. They gave me a Fiorcet tablet in the ER and it did the trick. I had taken my usual Zomig several times; then, they gave me a Maxalt and that didn't work either. The Fiorcet kicked the migraine and knocked out every other pain in my body. Wow! Could be habit forming (it is actually addictive), but using it as a rescue drug is perfectly legit. Good luck.
