Don't know if it's okay to say I am a TMS therapist with personal recovery from 20 years of pain and am in the Boston area....but thought I would put it out there...... Debby debbyconley@gmail.com
Damn right it's OK, heck, what have you thought of the posts you've been reading? Do you like the approaches? Whats your story? How have you helped patients? What are the common denomenators?
I think it goes a long way to have had my own recovery, hard won, from TMS. Patients trust that I know what I am talking about. I try to really help with the programming and fear. For me, it was a process of learning techniques to use my conscious brain to influence my unconscious brain. I knew that my brain was trying to distract me from repressed emotions, but that didn't help me get rid of the pain. I really needed skills to actively reprogram my brain. I try to give people the tools to do that. I also focus on the issues of doubt and fear, even the slightest doubt, as being a big factor in preventing recovery. For me, recovery was a result of the cumulative effect of proactively working with my brain for quite a while. I think people need ongoing support to accomplish that task.
