Nortin Hadler has a new book due out in October, "Stabbed in the Back: Confronting Back Pain in an Overtreated Society." It should be interesting to read his take on things and, particularly, the scope with which he attributes psychosomatic processes as the cause of back pain (because the overwhelming majority of chronic back pain IS psychosomatic, as we all know, and NEEDS to be labeled and treated as such on a global scale). I'm pretty sure he'll mention Dr. Sarno's work, theories, and successes, but I'm interested in seeing how much weight he gives to what is, ultimately, at the heart of the matter.

Checked out the excerpt on Amazon and sounds interesting. However, the name Sarno is not listed in the index, for what it's worth... |
