Ephesians 6:12 (King James Version)

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Yes. I went to the seminar, and it was beneficial.

4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

18If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

30A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

20For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

13And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Yes of course your right- there is a happy medium, just trying to make a joke I guess.

I do just need to forgive this lady chiro and forget and bless her and move on,

2 Scoops, Thanks for your post. I'm sure the semiar was really good.

Well I believe it comes down to doing what is right (in line with our spirtiual beliefs) , forgiving others and ourselves, confess and repent, having quilt and unforgivness , and not putting the past behind us, can destroy us. We need to live in the here and now, have trust and faith, and not fear the future.

That does not mean in my mind we need to be a doormat either, but we need to be assertive not agressive.

Have you come across 'The Pear Process', LuvtoSew?

It's a set of CDs that takes you through the process of -
  • Expression of anger and grief
  • Forgiveness
  • Acceptance etc
and includes a relaxation procedure.

You can find more about it (and a discussion) on the TMS wiki- http://tmswiki.wetpaint.com/page/The+PEAR+Process

The fear of evil is common in Christians. They are afraid if they talk about what the enemy is doing, it will give him power. Christianity also thinks that if we ever speak of anything that's evil, we are giving it power in our lives. We don't want to talk about anything negative. So we have another type of fear. It's time to talk about it and not be afraid anymore of talking about the enemy.

In Hebrews, it says we should be able to handle strong meat, but we have to go back on milk because we are unskillful in the "Word." No, it doesn't say that. It says that he is unskillful in the word of righteousness. But strong meat belongs to those that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hebrews 5:11-14 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

It is good to think on good things but Paul also taught us to not be ignorant of Satan's devices.

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Paul said through the law came the knowledge of sin.

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

You cannot defeat something you have become one with as if it were you. You will not see it working in you if you think "it's just a negative emotion" or that "It's just a psychological defect." It's time to recognize that we are dealing with sin.

You don't have to be a jerk to recover from TMS. You have to acknowledge to your innermost self that the pain is psychsomatic in origin and only exists to distract you from your unexpressed emotions.

I have met amoral hedonists (like myself) who suffer from it as well as Never-done-a-thing-wrong-in-their-life baptists (like my wife) who have it just as bad. I work for the Roman Catholic church and I can assure you it doesn't affect them in any greater numbers than the rest of the condemned population.

awareness of TMS and all of it's manifestations as well as awareness of your own emotional constipation are the essential components to recovery.

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding"

Having been raised with messages like these, TMS would be a hard thing to work with because your own understanding IS what will liberate you. You speak a lot of guilt and forgiveness. It sounds as though the chiro did something unintentional (hence the oops, sorry). What is there to forgive? There was apparently no malice there. If you felt she was negligently incompetent, did you file a claim or report the incident? If not, perhaps you had doubts about what actually occurred. I wouldn't hesitate to speak to this person and let her know the impact that event had on your life. She may have something to say that would change your perception entirely. At this point, I agree with what others have written.. your symptoms are no longer attributable to what happened with the chiro so dig a bit deeper.

I don't mean to be insensitive to your question it's just that if I were guided by religious faith, I would be very selective about the scripture I chose to absorb and also begin to trust my inner compass as well. Catholics believe we are all God's children, ergo you have divine power within yourself to be the creator and navigator of your own life. Taking back your personal power may be a difficult process but it may be what ultimately rids you of your symptoms....And I agree with baseball... we hedonistic pagans and atheists probably deal with TMS in equal measure.
