I've seen a lot lately on the forum about plantar fascitis and running injuries and I wanted to share info on a book called "Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall. I've not actually read the book yet but I heard a podcast on NPR of an interview the author gave w/Bob Edwards. He studied a tribe in Mexico where it is not unusual for people in their 60s run the equivalent of ultramarathons w/no apparent negative effects. In fact, they enjoy great health. They do this w/o the benefit of fancy running shoes. Running injuries are not heard of in this tribe. Its a worthwhile podcast to listen to and he makes a strong case that these injuries are not based in actual medical problems. Nor
