I have doubt that I suffer from TMS or not. Following are my symptoms. 1) I get pain only on sitting of computer. Pain is severe in nature and sometimes pain comes to home also. 2) Pain goes away when I relaxes. 3) I am having this pain since last two years and no improvement so far. I have taken many myotherapy sessions but not of much help. 4) Stress aggrevates pain. 5) Initially it started because of slip disc at C-5 & C-6 but my doctor is telling it has been healed. 6) I tried Sarno technique and surprisengly for first day I didnt felt pain although I sitted on PC for 6-10 hours. 7) But from second day again pain returned and is not leaving me.
I am really in worry and seriousely thinking of job change ( I am SAP consultant and have to sit on PC for daily four-five hours ) Also my bones are making lot of popping noise so am worrying that all this pain is because opf structural change.
Really I need good guidance ? does anybody have same symptoms. Pain is really unbearable and I fear that working in pain can cause some structural damage. |

patils,
quote: 1) I get pain only on sitting of computer. Pain is severe in nature and sometimes pain comes to home also. 2) Pain goes away when I relaxes.
That sounds like my RSI pain, which I'm now recovered from.
quote: 6) I tried Sarno technique and surprisengly for first day I didnt felt pain although I sitted on PC for 6-10 hours.
Sounds promising.

If the pain is that bad, try and reduce your computer use for a while if you can. It can take time for Sarno's concepts to work permanently.
But I'm confident you'll get better and won't have to change career. Many others of us have been in that position and recovered. Check out the links to the Success Stories on the wiki if you haven't already:

Thanks Hilary for encouraging words. I saw successstories and it is really a great inspiration to all sufferrs.
by and large, I am comming to conclusion that out mind is playing trick. ( dont know why it behaves like that and restrict blood flow to that particular area.) It will be good if anybody can explain this to all.
I have only doubt for not having TMS is increased popping and cracking noise on shoulder bones and neck bones. Is this something common or is this due to structural abnormality ?
How much time it will take to cure completely and any guideline will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sachin

Patils, I had almost exactly the same symptoms. I have been pain free and popping free for over four years now. The popping is, I think, because the restricted blood flow in your muscles pulls bones slightly out of whack and causes "crunchy" knots. It's really nothing though it sounds and feels terrible. It's all TMS. It's all rooted in your subconscious.
If you haven't yet read The Mindbody Prescription, I recommend it. Of all Sarno's books it helped me the most. I also liked Lee's Facing The Fire and his anger release exercises. Sometimes anger/sorrow is trapped in the body and you have to "beat it" or cry it out.
Healing from TMS is an emotional journey above all; and these books can guide you to feel what you have long ago stopped feeling...
Best, Logan
Sarno's books + journaling + Facing the Fire by John Lee + punching bag = pain free |

Thank you logan very much, I was in impression that bones are making noise ( especially during rotation of shoulder ) there is something structural damage.
I have now hope that I will be again able to sit on PC and will able to concentrate on my work which I missed since last three years.
As per Sarnos theory, ( whatever I understand )pain is only because of stress but what I experience there is stress because of pain. I feel hard to believe that pain has caused because of suppressed emotions. Does e-book of Sarno available ? Or if anybody is having soft copy, please mail on : mail2_sachinpatil@yahoo.com

hi patils, the fact that it starts hurting on the pc is PROGRAMMING, as odd as it may sound. Clearly there is muscular alteration, no doubt the muscles are stiff and thats why the bones crack. Stiffness. But curable through your brain only. Slowly, and through a lot of thinking. Read the latest monte update on this forum (just click on search and type in monte). He gives a very accurate description on THINKING PSYCHOLOGICAL. Thats what you need to start doing. Be patient. |
