Hello,
I've read his page - not his books.
However - "holistic" treatments many need to be careful of. This research needs to be done. There are some forms of holistic *spiritualistic practices that be on the verge of demonic spiritism.

One thing Ruskan says is good that really is all you need:

"Are we to vent our feelings uninhibitedly, lashing out at others who seem to hurt us? Or "is it better to calmly discuss feelings?:
..."We need an approach we can use all the time, on our own."

1. No one likes to confront feelings being hurt. However this is where suppression feeds itself. Why we hate it is because we hate to hurt others.
In the words of my grandmother "they breathe the same damn air I do - I have a right to feel good, and they have no right to make me feel bad"
> So not that we lash out - we can tactfully say, I don't appreciate this or that.
Ask: What is the worse that can happen? They leave you? Well then they weren't a good friend anyway. They apologize? Great! They now learned a new lesson themselves.

2. Cognitive Behavior (CB): When we get a "feeling" - the behavior is either TMS or Control. TMS is where we don't want to create an emotional event and thus alter our words to prevent a fight or argument etc. TMS also creates negative ideas by perceiving what something "Could" be. We can think people are talking about us because they whisper. a) First of all - so what if they are b) What are the chances it really is? Example with 100 cars on the road and a cop is up ahead. We think 1/100 he's looking at ME! Really though? "Control" is "I'm not breaking the law so I need not care" nor entertain the thought.

There are 2 aspects of everyone's life we need to fulfill. Physical & Spiritual.
Example: (Physical) We eat - we're happy. Good moving on. We're sick? Tend to it and get it over with. NO need to TMS thinking a heart attack is coming because my heart skipped. Happens to everyone.

(Spiritual) - Fear of death can cause TMS. Spiritually speaking we think maybe Hell Fire, or Purgatory. Well instead of listening to a preacher say these things that the Bible doesn't teach. I found there is no such place as Hell Fire or Purgatory or Limbo - those are doctrines not found in the Bible. I no longer feared life!
Fear of Death? The Bible has a great hope here on earth, again not what many claim it says - but what it says is better. Thus no need to fear the future.

Hi Jasper175
I am very aware that my fear of death adds to my TMS.
What is the great hope here on earth?

I don't recommend this book.
I looked on the website because I had seen a business card for an emotional clearing therapist/practitioner in my area.
It sounded interesting. Other books I've been reading seem to be suggesting to me that repressed emotions are blockages in the body which need to be cleared. So I got the book.
I got half way through the book and have had to stop reading it.
I just found that it was disturbing me, it was getting very complicated, and I couldn't go any further with it.

If anyone has suggestions for other ways of clearing repressed/suppressed emotions, I would welcome them.
I know that Dr. Sarno says that being aware that the emotions are there should be enough, but if there are ways of clearing or releasing them that would seem a good thing to me.

Jasper175, thanks for your response.

Carole.

Carole, you might want to check out the Solution Method, by Laurel Mellin. Her popular books are The Pathway and The 3-day Solution Plan. Of course she also has a web site, which has lots of information plus a free little intro course. I was introduced to her work by someone on this site (mizlorinj) who often spoke about using that method of journaling and I have been finding it very helpful, myself.
