Hey all,

Does somebody know or has the program of Ashok Gupta. He treats CFS/FYBRO/ME patients (he has recovered from CFS himself). His focus is on the amygdala. What he basicly says is that the perpetuation of symptoms is an unconscious proces with a central player which is the amygdala. Because the amygdala is sensitized the fear response (stress response) is constantly at work.

This is one on one what Hilbilly has said in his Topic Science or Sarno.
My problem remains the fear. I don't have much pain, almost nothing. I do a lot of things, also pain free. Only the fear for certain things is alway there. I'am 100% sure it is hardwired conditioning and sensitization of the fear centre (amygdala). I already did a lot but the fear remains, the possible symptoms still scare me a lot. I'am getting fed up with this permanent anxiety. I did the Sarno and Claire Weeks stuff(from mid 2007) and it has brought me back to 80%. But i think my history is to long to fully get rid of it. For those who don't know i have had of on back spasms for about 12 years. The first 10 years i did everything to avoid backpain. This was stimulated by my GP etc. Al the health practitioners said: watch out for you back, you must have week spot. So i applied that very consciously. It is not that what i do doesn't work but i just can't (at this moment) get fully free of fear. I'am even thinking on getting permanent medication
cause this anxiety is spoiling large parts of my life.

I red ashoks article and it is based on solid scientific research. On youtube he explains very accurate how this proces works. I would recommend it to everybody. So again, did anybody did his retraining program of the amygdala and what are your experiences with it.

I also searched here on this forum for his name and the word amygdala. Only in a few topics his name and the amygdala is found.I could not find any one who did his program.

Here are also the youtube links and the article.

I hope someone knows a bit more about his amygdala reprogramming.

Thanks

(there are 3 sessions consisting of a number items. Session 1 and 2 are an introduction. Session 3 are only testimonials. In 1 and 2 is the working of the amygdala explained in relation with CFS. For me it is the same as for backpain etc.

Ive been aware of this theory, and it infact does not contradict anything Dr. Sarno has said. It would be interesting to see his plan for relief of CSF though.
