| I had an earlier post about tms and diagnosis of metatarsalgia/ foot neuroma. Any tms experiences with it ????????????? Trying to hang in .Help appreciatted....THANKS |

| Ira I don't know what "foot neuroma" is but the foot is definitly a prominant TMS equivalent.This is from my own experience. Hang in! |

Hi Ira. I can report total success with all kinds of foot problems by using the TMS approach. I have had what they call plantar fascitis(sp?), achilles tendonitis, neuroma (supposedly) and generalized pain on top of both feet. I have not had any trace of any of this pain for over two years, since I knew that they were all TMS. I also had an inflamed toe, which started with a rash I got because of an allergic interaction between the sun and an antibiotic I was taking. The toe hurt long after the reaction had subsided, and then I realized that it was TMS again raising it's ugle head.
Of course, as soon as I became fully convinced that all my foot problems were TMS it appeared in other places. I am now fighting the battle all over again with back pain.

I recall about a year ago the lovely wife of the club pro "got" plantar fascitis. All of a sudden many of the ladies aound the club were also succumbing to it like the "foot flu". Her's went away and the malady hasn't raised it's ugly foot since.
I've noticed many similar hysterical epidemics over the years. Often they are media generated. I recall abour a decade ago a TV doc made a big deal over MVP, (mitral valve prolapse). All of a sudden my lady friend came down with it and got got all wigged out and curtailed her physical activity. After about a while the MVP TV coverage waned and my lady friend returned to all normal activity and forgot about it.
Sarno wrote about ulcers, being the equivalnet to our current back-pain TMS "epedemic". Ulcers went out of fashion when they were found out to be psychgenic.
Today, we as a culture, are so much better educated in anatomy. We have many more media outlets and more time on our hands. The variety and sophistication of physical symptoms are almost infinite. They can go in and out of fashion like hairsyles.
Witness the current media hysteria about vioxx and other drugs. For years their virtues were being extolled. Now they are demonized. Call your favorite TV ambulance chasing attorney and get in line for your cut of the class action. You'll probably get 50 cents for filling out all those forms while the ambulance chaser gets millions.
I would start looking at buying Mercke and Phiezer stock, (but timing is everything).
As far as media in general, I would view anything learned through TV, radio mags and newpapers on a credibility scale equal to a carnival side show. Entertaing but of dubious truth. PT Barnum said it well, "There's a sucker born every minute". |
