Hi All,

I am a new forum member, trying to find TMS Psychotherapists in the UK.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Hi Dave,

There is a list of practitioners here and they may be able to refer you to a psychotherapist:

http:// tmsrecovery.com/practitioners/

Otherwise, I found "The Journey" by Brandon Bayes useful when recovering from my RSI (there are lots of practitioners here in the UK) and I'm just starting something called "Body psychotherapy" (just had a couple of sessions so far - I read about it in "molecules of emotion" by Candace Pert).

I recovered from my RSI in Oct 2005, but I'm curious to delve deeper...

Hilary -- I did some body psychotherapy before discovering Sarno; it was pretty interesting. What style does your practitioner use? What are the sessions like? I'm curious if it's like what I had or not. Just wondering.

Hi ACL,

I found my therapist through the Chiron centre. The approach is described here and it's probably better if you read here than if I try describing it having only had 3 sessions:

(about a third of the way down)

So far it's been talking, but I believe biodynamic massage can also be used (also described on the website).

Thanks Hilary. Very interesting. I think it's a different type of approach than the people I saw, but there's a lot of similarities. I think these types of therapists are great for people with TMS to work with because they totally accept and work with the mind-body connection. I remember really appreciating the therapists I worked with because they would ask about and notice how I reacted physically to emotional situations, which was a really important connection for me to make (repeatedly). We experience our emotions through our physical bodies, and these types of therapists can help us sort that out.
