I have read a couple of the Recovery Inc. books, and went to a couple of Recovery Inc. meetings. They are on a donation basis, they recommend 4 bucks as a donation, but you don't have to donate.
This is really not opposed to Sarno. I think of this as sister books. But this is not ridiculous 200 dollars or 100 dollars therapy sessions. This is TRULY self-help.
Mental patients with numerous hospitalizations have been self-helped to not be rehospitilized for a decade or more. Imagine that! True self-help cures for run of the mill anxious people, depressed people.
It is a self-help method that takes time, yet it isn't just about getting rid of the symptoms but bringing a person to mental health through will training. This has been around in its same form for 70 years with meetings all over the U.S. plus some other countries.
I was really surprised on how most pages there are people whether mental patients or anxious people who have many of the same tms symptoms we deal with and try to recover from.
These books have really explained much to me. And I am investing my energy and focus into the recovery method.
I implore those helpful souls here who have cured themselves to invest in the books anyway and see if they are something you could wholeheartedly endorse and find nothing that would impede progress from getting rid of tms symptoms.
Because for me there is no affording therapy and oftentimes standard or freudian therapy can be completely unhelpful as many here can attest to.
I'm certainly no expert on Recovery material, or company or meetings. I mean to throw this out there as a most helpful resource. |

I got Mental Health Through Will Training and Manage Your Fears Manage Your Anger.
The first book is the must have book, this is the one used at the meetings. The second book I found to be every bit as valuable but if I could only have one it would be Mental Health Through Will Training, it cost 20 including shipping.
Recovery Inc. has a website that has a lot of free information, but because they sell their materials too I didn't think I could put their website here. But a quick google search of them brings it right up. |

I'm curious since there were many that read this post, if anyone got the book and read it?
I think it is so valuable. The TMS journaling and going on without letting pain or fatigue or whatever stop you can help you to get rid of your TMS condition but it doesn't give mental health. And if you haven't been able to get rid of it yet, this is a helpful adjunct.
If you still rage and lose your cool, if you still spiel inside your head, reliving conversations or brooding, if you still let the trivialities of life get to you, if you still let symptoms occupy your thoughts this book is really gonna help. Going to meetings though you'll meet those with not "garden variety" issues that have gone on because of this book and meetings.
Looking at Sarno's work through the screen of will I can see how developing WILL is key. I think WILL is all the power of being human.
