Hi Everyone, I noticed you could order Dr. Sarno's videos online. Has anyone found them helpful? I don't live close to a TMS doctor so I'm trying to do this on my own for now. I think they were about 80 dollars, are they worth it?

It saved my life.
I found it very therapeutic and reassuring to see and hear Sarno and being able to hear it straight from the horse's mouth removed any doubts I had about TMS being the true cause of my pain. You also get to see and hear from other patients how their lives have been transformed. It's like a before and after.
I also liked being able to replay certain parts that were relevant to me till the message sinked in. Unfortunately, when I bought them, there were only video cassettes available and my old VCR has finally conked out so I need to have the programme transferred onto a DVD or VCD.
You might be able to get them in DVD form now, I don't know.

I bought the DVD's about 2 months ago and it was really helpful in kickstarting my treatment and recovery. Like the previous poster, I felt like it REALLY helped my repudiate the structural diagnosis of the herniated disc in my back, since others had similar symptoms like me (numbness, burning in my leg, etc.). The Q & A sessions seem canned and planned, but they are very helpful, since they are a good summary of questions I had myself. The other thing that comes with the DVD is a small study guide, giving you a blueprint of how to do your treatment. It isn't necessarily gospel for everyone, but a good outline, which you can tweak according to your own recovery. Compared to the stupid doctor bills, it's a worthwhile investment.
I also found it a compelling educational tool for friends or family that didn't know what the hell I was talking about with TMS. I have many around me w/TMS that aren't open-minded to it. |

Thanks I'll try them then. What's eighty bucks when I'm saving so much from chiropractor bills! Maybe they will help my daughter who has headaches, anxiety and neck pain which I think could be TMS as well. She finds reading the books a little wordy. |

I bought it and am glad I did. Sometimes I'm tired and don't feel like reading or writing in my journal. This is a more relaxing and passive way to re-afirm Dr. Sarno's messages.
As one of the other poster noted, some of the questions from the audience sound posed (proabaly because they are). But there's no doubt in my mind that there are real people who have been helped by Dr. Sarno. |
