Lidge. Your "if in fact" concerns me since it shows doubt. Don't give up. Your belief (or doubt) that pain is TMS or its equivalent will affect the symptoms in your body. Your brain wants the "well, what if it's physical in this case" because it distracts you from the underlying emotional issues.
I have heard of ppl's pain being worse during the night and others worse during the day. Some worse in the a.m., some worse as the day goes on. Mine was bad 24/7. No letup. Bad enough to be bedridden. And even a nice bed didn't make it lessen.
How did you visit w/ Dr. Gwowdz go? If you want to share . . .
Lidge go back and read your post as if it is another person's post. Doesn't it sound like the post was made by someone who is suffering from TMS and still believes their problem is physical. I mean this person has already been to a TMS Dr. and has been told their problem is not physical. Fibromyalgia? Sarno says fibro "IS" TMS.
Stop thinking physical. Whats going on in your life thats stressful? The Holidays are coming up. For many who suffer from TMS Thanksgiving and Christmas brings on flareups. For some the Holidays brings up bad memories from their past. These are the things you should be thinking about not fibro and herniated discs.
For some of us relief from TMS doesn't come easy. I'm one of them. I have suffered on and off from TMS for the past three years and this last round (sciatica) has been the worst.
Just keep in mind the more you think about and post about the physical the longer its going to take to see major improvements.
