I was batting around the idea that I should soon start a YouTube channel for TMS/AOS. I have been observing that there are practically no good videos on YouTube and thought that maybe I could create an "instructional" series???? Maybe from the aspect of someone with severe TMS experience. I am starting to understand the mechanisms of TMS and am almost at the point where I can stop pain at will, but I still have a while to go before I feel confident enough to "teach" it to others on a massive scale.
Thoughts? |

I think its a great idea. I actually looked on it for TMS info and just found the Disc/Schmisc video- but it sort of lost its point being given by a chiropractor. Still - always good to see someone to counteract the usual videos showing disc space narrowing, pinched nerves etc.
I'm not too computer saavy but if you know how to do it you could get the message out to so many people. I say go for it. The Schechter video sold on Amazon is really nothing more than a group of people talking about their TMS. |

Yeah, the disc shmisk guy is ummmm not so cool. But you're right there is nothing more than that. And hey what are you doing reading this? Get to journaling young lady... I order you. :)

In all seriousness, I was thinking to aim the film at "severe" TMS people since I guess I'm the poster boy. A lot of people are morphing to YouTube for practically everything now. Humans love visuals and identify with a faces more, which is natural. I was thinking I should go through a step by step "instruction". Sort of like a "thirty days to pain free life" sort of deal, but for those specifically with diagnosed TMS, and not suffering from something else.
I dunno, it's just an idea now. I think I need a little more grasp on my own TMS though. I would feel weird teaching something that I myself haven't "mastered" yet. Ya know? |

I've always been puzzled why there isn't more of a "face" put to TMS on video sharing outlets like Google video and YouTube. I think a lot of people, once they are rid of their TMS run for the hills so to speak and don't look back because they want to make up for lost time. And the other half doesn't want to jinx themselves back into a TMS pattern by talking about it IMO. So the success examples are not archived better.
I just wanted to do a TMS video series on what I have observed and what worked for me. It may stray from the standard TMS theories in some parts, but every different angle helps. I've never identified with the TMS people that just read a book or journal a few times and get well. I think their numbers are over inflated to be honest and not within the reality of what I've seen, the exception rather than the norm.
As I said, my "advice" would be mainly for those people with severe TMS or chronic/lengthy TMS. I just thought I would throw the idea out there since I would love to help just a few people. But I honestly think I need to complete my uber TMS Jedi skills. I'm not a Jedi yet and I can't make claims without first proving it to myself. Who knows , maybe one day. Maybe someone will read this and get the idea to do it, which is just as good. I don't like being on camera anyways, and I have anonymity issues now that I think about it. Ugh.
We'll see.

Hi
I'm a seminar leader by trade and was already teaching something a bit like TMS before I read Sarno. Then when I got Sarno I got even more relief (from 30 years of FM/CFS). So I started teaching a weeklong training about this - with my own bells and whistles but also showing Sarno videos and using Sarno terms.
It was very successful - a guy with terminal cancer had a complete remission. But it was stressful for me to do, because the 3 out of 20 who were opposing it made for some rough times, and I am not "cured," just better, (and take my symptoms less seriously). I felt that the whole experience of teaching this stuff was a bit enraging for my angry, symptom-producing parts, so I let it go for a while.
Anyway, I'm responding here, because I have dealt with all these issues about teaching this stuff and how it has affected my own journey with TMS work, etc. Right now I'm in big symptom mode, probably because of feelings brought up by my mother going down into her demise, and my sister having cancer... But I still completely believe in this approach. It's just not necessarily "perfect, right and done."
The thing about being on YouTube about this, for me, would be that too many people challenging how much better I'm feeling would not be the most supportive thing. It's a bit like discovering the secret of physical immortality. You are supposed to stay quiet, or someone might just shoot you to test it...
Love is the answer, whatever the question |
