Dear boardmembers,
Does anybody know a good article or piece of information about IBS as a part of TMS. I have a girl at my work who has IBS. She has been scanned, researched, etc. Nothing structural. Basicly very healthy. Symptoms keep coming back for already over 2 years.
Next monday i have an appointment with her about Sarno but i'am looking for some written back up.
I have all the Sarno, Schechter, Sopher, Rostocki books and i already know a lot off TMS web info. Just looking for a bit of TMS/IBS info.
Thanks all.

Not sure about exact references but I know it was mentioned in Mindbody Prescription. Proper and savy nutrition is also much needed with any type of lower GI problem.....not just "conventional" proper nutrition either. I would recommend taking the supplement called Primal Defense by the company Garden of Life.....you can find it at a health food store or at www.gardenoflife.com
The Maker's Diet by Jordan Rubin may be a useful reference for other mind/body/spirit approaches to wellness. |

As a former sufferer, I can tell you for sure that my IBS was TMS, as I suspect most patients symptoms are...
I wrote an article about it, but I can't promote it here. I am sure you can find it if you look... Best, Sensei

it is important to remember as someone said on this board last week. Tms in muscles is a benign process, but when it occurs in other areas it isn't always benign (ulcers etc..) and therefore medical, nutritional and other ways to help yourself out are much needed and definitely not anti-tms |

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH IBS ALONG WITH FIBRO, THEY OFTEN GO HAND IN HAND,FROM EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE READ ON THE SUBJECT, STRESS AND EMOTIONS ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF IBS BUT THERE IS AN EMOTIONAL COMPONANT TO THIS SYNDROME THAT AGRAVATES THE CONDITION, ELIMINATION OF WHEAT AND DAIRY , OR GASEOUS FOODS SEEM TO HELP SOME , RELAXATION TECHNIQUES, ETC, USUALLY WHEN ONE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH IBS, OTHER TESTS HAVE BEEN DONE TO RULE OUT SERIOUS DISEASES LIKE ULCERS AND BOWEL DISEASES, I HOPE THAT YOUR FRIEND HAS HAD A THROUGH MEDICAL EVALUATION. AS A POINT OF INTEREST I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WHO WERE DIAGNOSED WITH BOWEL PROBLEMS THAT SUDDENLY VANISHED ONCE THEY ELIMINATED DIET FREE GUM, THE SUGAR IN THESE PRODUCTS CAUSES A LOT OF ABDOMINAL GAS AND PAIN. ALSO SOME PEOPLE ARE MISSING CERTAIN ENZIMES AND CANNOT ASSIMILATE SUGARS. HOPE THIS HELPS |

Dear boardmembers,
Thanks for the comments. I will tell my story to her and let her self make an adding up. I will not forget your comments and tell her that IBS can work in an other way than neck/backpain. Maybe other things are also needed to help the cure.
To answer 1 question from Miche. She has had a lot of research to check out the problem. Nothing found.
Greetings and thanks
