My hip replacement surgery was May 25. I had to take blood thinners due to a previous clot. Apparently, because of the thin blood, I bled into the hip cavity causing a pool of fluid. Now it's stuck and believe me, it is painful. I am not walking on my own yet and am beyond frustrated.

Anyone heard of this? I have tried to "walk through it" and am simply not able to do it. Plus, I can't fall down because of the replacement or it may dislocate. I am using a cane and now, 4 months after surgery, am beginning to feel quite hopeless. My surgeon says to wait and if it doesn't reabsorb in 6-8 weeks, he wants to do surgery. I do not want another surgery, but I don't want to be on a cane forever either. That was the whole point of the surgery.

Anyone?

Thank you. Any idea how long it takes to work through this? I'm doing water therapy and home exercises. I also started acupuncture, wanting to do something besides sit around doing nothing.

Bless your heart Michele! I hope you feel better soon. I can imagine how frustrating it would be to have pain that outright is NOT TMS. I wish the best for you!

Cannot say, but I would trust your orthopedists on this one. Good luck to you.
