I read this in "The Five Things We Cannot Change",by David Richo Our Calling This is the true joy in life:being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, being thouroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap, being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish, little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
(the last part reminded me of my own ego, complaining, etc.) |

Hi Althe, Did GB Shaw originally say this? Do you recommend this book? I saw your other post and it sounds interesting ... is it a goodie?

G.B. Shaw was quoted as the author in David Richo's book. I really liked it, and "The Power of Coincidence" also by David Richo. I borrowed "The Five Things We Cannot Change" from the library, maybe see if it's available at your library, in case it's not your cup of tea. |
