Hi All,

I posted lasted week about the numbness in my right part of my lower part of my shine that leads into my big toe.

Went to the doc. and got x-ray and blood work to make sure that it's not b12 defficiency.

Yesterday, I got a letter from the doc. that everything is fine. Nothing showed up in my x-ray and my thyroid and b12 test were all within normal range

I was reading The Mindbody Prescription and now I am starting to doubt Dr. Sarno for fear that I really do have something really wrong with me, maybe even neurological. I am sure this didn't help because week ago I did surf the net. I've since stopped!

Is my mind playing tricks on me? Do, seek a neurologist for further testing or do I just work on thinking it's tms and not something dreadful.

Thanks Kalo

Ok, I'll volunteer...There, I just gave you a swift kick in your...That's what legitimate pain feels like. Feel the difference?

If all your tests came back ok, what's the problem? If you're not happy with your test results, can I have them?

Are you sure your not shinning us on?

Hey TennisTom,

Well, in my mind I keep thinking something neurologically is going on with me that my medical doctor didn't find.

Something that maybe only a neurologist would fine, and, no I am not shinning you all on

Thanks for the swift kick

Kalo, then, by all means you should see a neurologist and get checked out to settle your concerns. It's your mindbody and you should over-turn every rock on the planet to make sure that nothing is overlooked.

Be prepared, if you see a neurologist, to be dx'ed with a pinched nerve maybe--that's what neurologists do.

Is there a TMS doctor near you? It may be worth your while to travel to see one to separate the TMS from the structural.

Good Luck!

Thanks TennisTom,

However, their is no TMS doc. in Arizona. I also state that since I've been panicking about other things being wrong with me other then TMS, my synptons have gotten worst.

So, I guess my mind is playing a big part in this. If I went to a neurologist it would be just to clear my mind.

Thanks again, kalo

There's TMS doctors in California listed on this board's Home Page and on Tarpits's site. It's not that far from AZ. Maybe combine it with a vacation. The drive itself may do you some good.

Yes, and that's the distraction that TMS is using against you, to keep the harmful emotional rage from surfacing. Your brain gets obsessed fooling you into thinking that something is wrong.

Since your doc has come up empty DXing with your test results, then there is nothing else it could be other than TMS. You WIN! Do the TMS work and you will be free.

Take care, -Stryder

Thanks Stryder,

I just went to my regular physician and he didn't find anything wrong with me. However, I am wondering if I need to go to an neurologist?

Deep down I know that it could be TMS, but there is a part of me that thinks that maybe I should seek a neurologist before accepting the TMS diagnosis.

However, I will say that the pain has spreaded. And, I am sure Anxiety doesn't help it either.

From wondering why I have a little numbness ONLY when I touched my top foot and the side of my lower shin to it now feeling like I can't lift on my foot when walking and having more pain.

Not to mention the burning sensation I am getting in my arms from the ANXIETY

Any how thanks for the advise and maybe I should just stop worrying to seek an neurologist and take my chances that it is TMS.

Thanks again!

One thing to keep in mind is that it's unlikely that your symptoms would spread so quickly and widely with something organic/structural. But TMS can go far and fast, since it's just a bit of oxygen deprivation.

But if you'll feel reassured after getting poked and prodded by a specialist, that could be the way to go.
