What are they putting in your Labatt's up there? Does it seem like there are a lot of Canadians on this board? Don't get me wrong, I love Canada, and am going on a trip to Vancouver Island shortly, to Duncan to play on some grass courts.
If it's so, is there something in the culture or the medical system that encourages TMS?
Any opinions? |

Have you looked at your membership list recently? 75% of the members are "USA". Maybe you should be asking yourself the same question.
Don't stain the back of your shorts on that Duncan grass.
Speaking of grass, when you're up here, ask the owners of the tennis club why they never use a mower on grass courts. Every spring most of us Canadians spray beer on our lawns so we never have to mow because in the summer the grass comes up have cut. It's something that Labatts puts in their brew. Americans haven't caught on to this yet. We like our secrets.

| THis might sound weird or a bit Anti-American but my guess is that perhaps it seems like there are more Canadians on this board because the Canadians are more open minded, generally...as are the Europeans then Americans...That's just my impression as a second generation Czech w/ most of my friends being from other countries...I still love Canadians, even though my ex fiance who tore my heart out last November is from Ottawa... |

Intriguing question Tom - I'd noticed the same thing since poking through the forum again over the past couple weeks.
For what it's worth, and generally speaking (there are PLENTY of exceptions!), we Canucks pride ourselves on our tolerance, moderation and acceptance of everyone and their values. We can be polite to a fault and dont want to offend anyone. I've known American friends who now live up here shake their heads and say "Why cant you guys ever just say what you think??!!" On the world stage, we are well respected for our moral concience and peacemaking values, always wanting to do the right thing.
Admirable qualities all and I'm grateful to be living here, but maybe we need more than Labatts binges and hockey fights to vent our inner primitive.

| I'll also jump on the "I love Canada" bandwagon. I've been to BC many times, incl running a marathon there. It's a beautiful place with friendly people, level-headed gov't, tolerant culture--I'd probably be living there now if it weren't for the weather. |

That's a deal breaker for me as well...The older I get the more I detest cold weather..I'm getting to the point where I don't even like cool weather...Give me 80+ degrees every day for the rest of my life, and then and only then will I be happy, at least insofar as the weather's concerned.. |

| Not I. I could take 60F all year round as long as its not raining all the time and didnt snow (get below 40F). I'd move to the Pacific NW or BC in an instant if it were not so cloudy and wet. -Stryder |

I know what you mean Art...but lately, I am soooo homesick for NY/NJ that I even miss the SNOW! Every time i see something w/ snow on TV that homesick feeling increases...Part of why i moved to Vegas 12 yrs ago was because of the winters...But i went from one extreme to the other...The summers here are just as bad as the winters there...It goes up to 120F...just not habitable for humans! I love Fla. too but the bugs/humidity is tough...San DIego is wonderful all year round but they have EARTHQUAKES! Oye!!!

Agreed, the US and SF were like that too, until they were invaded by 30 million illegals.  |

I wonder if our politeness causes more repression? Canadians have extremely high internet use, maybe because of the cold winters in most of the country. TennisTom - I hope you have time to explore
the island - I have lived here most of my life, and wouldn't move,
unless maybe it sunk. |

Just have to add that I LOVE VANCOUVER AND VICTORIA!! Sooo much...If it weren't for my fear of earthquakes,lol...I would move there...So beautiful and the people just awesome! I sang in Montreal and North East Canada many times as well..I have yet to hit Toronto but as soon as I feel up to it, I will...Have 2 good friends in that area...
