HI guys,

I am hoping venting about work will help me feel better about it. We shall see though. Well I work with unemployment claims (for some this will set the ding ding off already). I get yelled at a LOT in my job. Plus people only hear what they want to hear and then later say you said something you didn't or don't believe you and keep calling back trying to wait until they hear what they want to hear. I hear people saying "what do you expect me to do when my benefits end," I want to tell them I expect they get a job and support their family but just say you can try DSS (department of social services) or try www.firstgov.gov and see if you qualify for any type of federal assistance. I get people yelling at me because they didn't qualify for benefits, people saying that they shouldn't have been let go because they slept with the boss's husband. People who says it's a conspiracy that they were chosen for a random drug test. I get yelled at on the phone the most. People in person are somewhat better behaved but more likely to lie about what you said to them. Just thinking about work makes me hurt worse sometimes. I do not like working in claims even though my supervisor and I are good friends. I somewhat stick it out for her and then for my knees. If I need surgery (will know ont he 20th) I have friends/coworkers that will donate leave to me. anyway thanks for reading. I will probably end up venting more about work later. On the bright note working here makes it harder to see the good in everyone and to believe that everyone has good intentions. LOL

Hugs,
Ali Cat

I would love to cj but until I know what's what with my knees I don't want to rock the boat. I guess I feel trapped. I don't mind the paperwork and helping those that want to help themselves it's just all the others. I love my coworkers and they (part) beg me to stay and the other part tell me to get out while I can and if they weren't near retirment they would get out. It's hard. I have so many bills so I can't take a pay cut and until I become fully certified teaching (which my schooling is on hiatus right now due to health mostly) I can't really go there either. I want to stay with the state because once I get in 5 years they pay for you medical insurance after you retire no matter where you worked last. I just don't know CJ, I know the job makes me miserable most of the time, I felt it was due to pain why I hated the job so much but maybe it's the job giving me some of the pain.

Hugs,
Ali Cat

I must second cjb.

Working at a job that is beneath your skills, or beneath your spirit is hard on you in ways you are not even aware of.

Your spirit longs for a more fulfilling job, but you brain is scared of all the big changes that means.

That will trigger TMS for sure!

Distract the host from the big issue by causing pain.

But don't sell your spirit to that government job every day. It's not good.

You and your supervisor can still remain friends.

Beth

Thanks Beth, I hear, understand, and agree with both you and CJ. the only problem are my knees....once I get the MRI results then I will take action. I need to keep a job where I will be able to be paid while I recover if I have to have surgery. If on the 20th I find out I won't need surgery and there is another solution I will begin actively looking elsewhere for employment. I had applied for a supervisor's position within the agency (just to get away from the atmosphere I am in) but I didn't get the job which is just as well since the job is in the city where the ex boyfriend lives, so I took it as fate saying to stay far far away from him. It made not getting it easier. I know I need something else, really I do. I am just waiting until I find out the results of the MRIs of both knees on the 20th of this month. Any suggestions to get me through this hump? I am antsy and want to know the results. The doc thinks I may have torn cartliage which is why I can't straighten my legs all the way (I had to relearn to walk with knees at a bent angle all the time) and it hurts a lot, granted part of the pain is probably the TMS. Sigh. Please keep me in your thought and prayers until the 20th. I agree with the Tom Petty song, "The waiting is the hardest part."

Hugs,
Ali Cat

Before you respond to your mri with knee surgery, go back and read the posts made by Polly. She might balance your decision.

Susie,
Please help me find the postings you wish me to read from Polly. I try to skim as much as I can while at work, don't have time to search search but am very interested in reading what you suggested.
Thanks bunches!

Ali Cat

Cat, I haven't used the archives as I have been here the whole time but I looked Up Polly and knee and got a post from 12-15-04. She posted alot, had both knees replaced and said she would never do it again. I haven't seen her post in a while. She ended up having hip surgery for the problems the knee surgery caused. Sarno told her there was no other way. The last she posted, she was doing great. Maybe someone else knows how to use the forum better. Tom talked to her alot. I bet if you e-mail her she will respond. She is a sweetheart.

Roger Roo and thank you Su(sie). LOL Not sure where that came from. I will probably email Ms. Polly. Thanks I did archives and just Polly and didn't see any with knees. Guess I should have added key word, just wasn't sure which key word to use. I'll keep you posted with what I find.

Ali Cat

Hi Ali Cat,
I understand your plight..I will be praying that the results are not a torn carlilage, but rather something that can be fixed Without the need for any surgery...Like TMS!
Hugs back
