I've been diagnosed with spondylolithesis grade 1, which is causing right leg pain for about 2 years. I've read alot of responses and Dr. Sarno's book on TMS / stresses. my question is: often it's referred that the pain comes back or worsens when specific stresses happen. Well, what if the pain never leaves, which is my case. I've tried to track when my pain got better or worse and i can never relate it to a specific event/item.
Could the spondy really be causing my pain? Also, in Dr. Sarno's book he does mention that spondy can cause the pain vs someone else saying it does not?

Hi zeke,
Some severe cases of spondy can be the cause in pain, but if you fit the TMS profile and you are not in serious danger from your spondy condition then you owe it to yourself to go the TMS route. You have nothing to loose but your pain.
I ws DXed with an extruded disc at L5-S1 and nerve impingement, DDD, whatever, blah blah blah. At the time I was 100% convinced I was "broken" and that I would never be "normal" again. I used to obsess about being broken and that just caused me more pain. Boy, was I wrong!
Try not to use your condition as an excuse to avoid taking the TMS leap of faith.
Go ahead, leap! ;-)
