I'm a multi-food allergic hypoglycemic and had been making some decent progress with respect to eating many more foods up until very recently.
I had a set-back but am determined to carry on, and in the spirit of facing my fears split a large order of Papa Gino's spaghetti and meatballs with my girlfriend...something that would ordinarily sicken me for at least a day.
So....send me good thoughts all who care to. If I can make it through to tomorrow that will mean I've escaped any reaction.
Think TMS.
Many thanks, A. |

Thanks Laura, you're the best.
Kenny, I have a problem with nearly everything. About the only things I haven't reacted to are fish (yech), some exotic meats, vegs.,a few exotic grains.
I've tried about everyting along the way, but I've a new model so that's all over with.
It's 5:30 a.m. the next morning and I feel pretty well. There are lots of food allergic people on this board I think. For us, there's hope as well it seems..

Sending hopeful vibes your way! I hope you make progress with your allergies. It must be dreadful having this since eating is one of the best pleasures in life. Best of luck with this. Mary |

Yeah, Art. You made it. I'm so glad to hear you did okay. Your food allergies appear to be TMS, like 99% of all the other physical problems we have. Great to hear!

Hi Mary,
Thanks so much for the good vibes....They definitely helped! And you're right, it's a terrible way to live. My life has been ruined to a certain extent by this...I know there are people with much worse things, and I'm grateful for the health I do have, but noentheless I've been very very sick for a long time with this stuff...
Last week, before I had the setback, I was in a restaurant getting take out and I felt like crying (and I almost never cry) with gratitude just to be in a place like that, enjoying life's simple pleasures like everyone else in the world it seems,,
Being unable to eat is terrible isolating as so much of what we think of as socializing takes place around food....
I'm determined to follow this through if it kills me...
So far, for the most part it's been working...I can't tell you how grateful that makes me feel...
And sweet Laura..thanks to you to for all your wonderful support. It really helps to have friends who understand what a battle this stuff can be...I think we should all take time out from time to time to pat ourselves on the back for having the courage to face our fears and take full responsibility for our lives and for our health... |
