It has been awhile since I posted. I pretty much am sure at this point that my toe problems are not TMS. I was just wondering if anyone since I posted has any similar problem with the edges of their toes feeling inflamed. It was first with my pinky toes(and still is after 3 years) and lately the tops of my big toes that touch the insides of my sneakers now have this sensitivity. Frankly I think it is some kind of neourlogical disorder. I have had TMS in many places over the years and seem to be able to pinpoint TMS. This never leaves unlike TMS. It is with me 24/7. I was diagnosed with RSD (which means nothing to me). This just doesn't seem like TMS at all.(I thought it was in the beginning) Can't wear shoes that touch the outer &/taller toes. Anyone have this??? I would love to hear from anyone. I am tired of not being able to buy shoes! Looks like this problem is NOT leaving my toes. Anyone????

I don't know your age or other medical issues, but this sounds like it could be a condition called a polyneuropathy. This is a catch-all term for a disease affecting the long nerves to the feet, usually slowly progresses up the foot/legs. There are many types of neuropathies, and many potential causes, so this should be investigated by a neurologist.

Sounds like it has been very slow in progression, which is a good sign overall. Besides confirming the diagnosis and determining a cause, there are medical treatments for the symptoms you describe.

This could be something other than that, but that would be the top of my list based on that brief description.

Good luck to you!

Wow thank you for your most informative response! How are you so familar with this?? I was actually thinking about seeing a neurologist next. Is what you describe curable?? You seem to know so much. I anxiously await your response!!
Please don't tell me that this is going to take over my entire body or I will just shoot myself!!
P.S. I am 47 and otherwise in good health
