In The Mindbody Prescription sarno mentions auto immune disorders, skin conditions and P. I think you can apply the techneiques to any condition.

Thank you for your reply.
I think you can apply the techneiques. But any condition IS NOT
TMS. (Though a lot of conditions has a psycological aspect).
Sarno stresses ex. the fact that RA is not TMS.

I actually wrote to Dr. Sarno to find out if my skin conditions were TMS. I got a letter back which said I could call him on specific days at specific times. When I told him about my skin conditions he said they were TMS and that I should go for therapy. I did go to a "skin therapist" for over two years with no improvement. But Dr. Sarno did recommend a freudian therapist which I didn't do.
As an aside, I had psoriasis when I was a teenager from the age of 13-18 which went away on its own(I went away to college at 18-out of the stressful family home).
Psoriasis runs in my family but I absolutely believe that it is TMS.
I wish I knew what I did to get rid of it.

There's an important distinction between the way that MBP handles psoriasis and RA. Psoriasis is listed in the chapter on TMS equivalents, while RA is listed in the chapter on "Disorders in which Emotions May Play a Role." In other words, Dr. Sarno is confident that psoriasis is a TMS equivalent, while he's not as sure about RA.

On the other hand, Sarno doesn't come right out and say that he has successfully treated psoriasis. It would be helpful if someone here has experience with treating psoriasis with Sarno's approach.

I had a horrible dry skin condition around my eyes for well over a year.

After reading Sarno, for my back, I decided to apply the same techniques to the skin condition. I decided to just ignore it an act as if it wasn't there. I hadn't been wearing eye makeup because I thought that would antagonize my skin, so the first thing I was crack open the eyeshadow and pretend that my skin was just fine. Within 6 weeks, it was.

What exactly is a "skin therapist?"

I saw a psychologist in Boston who specializes in skin conditions but he has the most success with acne, rashes, and such. My skin issues are more autoimmune. The psychologist's website is
http://www.grossbart.com/#. We did some "hypnosis" which was actually relaxation and imagery but mostly it was talk therapy. My skin issues continued, unfortunately.

Most likely, TMS.

I am convinced the immune system is a major target of TMS.

I have psoriasis my whole life. I can't say it's cured, but it has been extremely light since I realized I had TMS. No more major flare-ups.

My mother (ridden with TMS but would never accept it) had a severe skin rash that lasted for weeks. Doctors had no clue what it was. She was put on steroids which reduced but did not eliminate them. Finally it just went away on its own.

i am an acne/rosacea sufferer. I have decided to ignore the skin problem and stop all acne products. It seems that my skin is clearing itself now I noticed that my skin was really bad when my mum was here. I think that all of these skin disorders are TMS. I am beginning to ignore all of these.
