It is also important to note that situations that you have not deconditioned yourself to will produce symptoms in you that make you feel that you have made no progress even if you're close to being cured. Don't let this disway you as you only need to decondition yourself to these situations as well.

Yes, situations that take me by surprise are always the worst for me. On of the issues I need to face is that surprise stressors WILL HAPPEN, often quite regularly. I need to stop having certain expectations about the events of day to day life. Of course, living in a foreign country can be a challenge in this regard, just the difficulty of day to day life can be upsetting. Like when the water and electricity disappers unexpectedly.
day-to-day stuff. check expectations.check.
Often wondered about life in Panama...

Posted - 01/28/2013 : 14:32:43 Eric, such a fabulous response. You really are helping me so much to not only understand but see where I've been going wrong. It makes the world of difference for me to see/hear how all this works in real life. The theories are great but being something of an experiencial learner I find the way you describe things invaluable. How is Roxy? |

Posted - 01/28/2013 : 13:48:29 this a great one plum- i remember i had it all doun-under control and then out of the blue i hear some dogs fighting i go outside to look and bang! my pet dog roxy has her belly ripped wide open i just about had a pain attack and at that instant i plainly accepted she was going to be ok-it was an intense moment then three days later-i find out it was my brothers dog that did it and he had just let his dog in my house and she was heading full blast at my pet dog roxy- i saw my brother catch his lab right before she attacked roxy and talk about your heart hitting the floor- all of the tension that i had released from just three days pryor were all over me in about a nano second-i was feeling it so i went to my room -started my affirmations to calm my sensitized nerves and then i went right into journaling about the rage this animal had just exploded in me. i meditated for about 10 minutes-thinking of my self in complete calmness then i re-framed the scene i had in my mind-and boom-the sensitization was over- now in the past,i would have been in a angry and painful situation but today i know what to do with just about any scene-
in other words when ya feelin better and all of the sudden something hapens that ya havent de-conditioned yourself too.then keep heart and take note that you dont have to loose it. just go and get your-self to calm doun as quick as possible and move on with your day- god bless-this is a good one ace....thanks plum |
