Can anyone tell me the complete name of a book I saw mentioned on this site? Something about Homecoming. I think it is about childhood emotional and physical trauma healing. I need the author also. And I keep hearing about mindful meditation. What is the best book for this? Thanks in advance.

Jon Kabat Zinn writes extensively about mindfulness meditation. He founded the Stress Reduction Center at UMass Medical Center in Worcester MA.

Here are his books at Amazon, although you should also be able to find his books at your local library:

Check out "Why Meditate?" by Matthieu Ricard.

Thanks golden_girl and altherunner. This sounds like a good book and I will check the bookstore and amazon. I've never been able to find a therapist worth a darn to help with this. I'm so surprised at the lack of expertise and skill of these people making so much money an hour. So disappointing and frustrating it has been. I've heard others say the same thing. Forget about finding one even accepting of the TMS information.

I hope someone out there lets me know of a good mindful meditation book that they have read. I think this is suspose to help quiet your mind, etc.

Homecoming:reclaiming and championing your inner child by John Bradshaw. I like him - he helped me stop drinking.

Doing a quick search for 'homecoming, book' on the forum, this comes up:

John Bradshaw's 'Homecoming'

Hope that helps!
