I'd be interested in starting a TMS support group in San Francisco. We could meet once or twice a month (I know a quiet café with ample free parking, easy access from the North Bay and the Peninsula, and a block away from a Muni Metro line.) If interested, please send me an e-mail or reply to this thread. If at least four of us can get together, we could call it a group.

About me: I've had back pain for many years. It became quite severe about six months ago and almost pushed me to the brink. I saw two spine specialists, a physical therapists, two chiropractors, an acupuncturist, visited a pain clinic, until I discovered Dr. Sarno about two months ago. The pain has eased considerably but is now shifting to my hip, and I feel I need a little push to reach the finish line. I'm also considering a psychologist and waiting to see if other Bay Area members can come up with a name.

Dan and Katie, meeting both of you live and in person was very inspirational for me. It was so helpful to know that there are real people out there, not just messages on the computer!! Let's do it again!

Aran, Katie: Just wanted to say that I enjoyed meeting you both and hearing your stories. We should do this again sometime with whomever else wants to come. Cheers, Dan

I'll be blonde and skinny with curly hair ;-)

Love is the answer, whatever the question

I'll be there too! I'll be wearing a yellow Cal hat.

2:30 is fine with me.
Wavy Soul Posted - 08/15/2011 : 17:52:32
I could do 2:30. Can we all confirm just to be sure? Sounds like a good location.

Katie

I can do that. To be recognizable, I'll be wearing a dark blue t-shirt with a white kanji on front.

How about tomorrow at 2 PM at Cafe Local 123 on San Pablo Ave in Berkeley. Cross street is University Ave.
Dan Posted - 08/12/2011 : 12:57:25
Are you guys still thinking of meeting on Aug. 16? I could make an early afternoon meeting, but I'd have to leave by 4 at the latest.

Aran, I live in Berkeley too, so it would probably be easy for us to meet for coffee or lunch sometime. Feel free to email me.
Wavy Soul Posted - 08/08/2011 : 23:50:28
I could possibly make it to Berkeley on Aug. 16 in the pm, if there are others who are in.

Love is the answer, whatever the question

Cool. How about Aug 16 in the afternoon? East Bay? Of course I would prefer that because I am in Berkeley but I am willing to travel.
Wavy Soul Posted - 08/03/2011 : 02:19:53
Yes - this thread is confusing because it's 4 years old until the last post.

I'm in if we can agree on a time and place.

Hi,

Any chance there is still a group in SF area that wants to meet? I live in Berkeley but am willing to travel anywhere in the Bay Area.

Thanks!

I live in Saratoga now (used to be in Santa Cruz) and am still game to meetup if a group is formed. I can get to pretty much anywhere in the Bay Area (within reason :-)

Thanks!

armchairlinguist, I just sent you a PM.

Oops, it looks like I failed to respond to this and things dropped away. I think PV is on vacation now anyway. I am really busy at the moment but would be willing to try a meetup, though as expressed I prefer the Peninsula.

What were you expecting?

Hello Bay Area. I've been off the board for a while and just saw this thread. Is there a meet-up in the near future? I am in the Inner Richmond, SF. I am a former Sarno patient and have had a great deal of success applying his methods. Check my other posts if you want details. Would be good to meet others in the area.

Best,

Yeah, Armchairlinguist, I've lived here almost 20 years. Originally from NJ, moved to AZ in the late 80s, then here in 1990 (part of the heydey of Silicon Valley before the dot-com bust). Where are you located?

I live on the Peninsula (near Belmont) and would be interested in meeting, esp. if it's near the south bay or of course in the Peninsula area. I personally don't like having to go to the City (driving there is rather nerve-wracking for me). But driving down 280 or 101 is no problem.
